Lest we forget there is no slave "class" anymore

Yet in paragraph 10 of today's study article it says "For decades the faithful slave class has warned us ..."

Yes there IS still a slave 'class.' It's just that the 'class' is no longer 11 or 12 thousand strong. It's presently only 8 strong. But it will be interesting to see how the terminology will change.

The de facto FDS has always been the seat of power of the WTS. That hasn't changed from the days of C.T. Russell to the present moment.

I know I’m not the only one who noticed that while there were scriptural references in The Watchtower article, not once, not once, was the Bible itself said to be the place Witnesses should go to seek answers. Yet this cult claims that the Bible is the last and final court of appeal on all of its teachings. This article has instead elevated the teachings of the Governing Body above the Bible itself. God has been dethroned and the Governing Body has been deified.

There has just been an announcement on one of the JW pages on FB regarding new light on the FDS and new understanding on Matt 24:45-47

    Here is point No.5

"Now the big stuff! New Light! There were six talks by the Governing Body that lasted for 2hrs. It was a change in understanding of Matt 24:45-47. The change is our understanding of who the Faithful and Discreet Slave are and when they were appointed. Also who/what are the domestics and the belongings. Here is the sum up and of course there will be articles coming out in the Watchtower.

Because of the context of this chapter which is talking about 1914 onwards, it is no longer felt that the FDS was appointed in 33CE. So verse 45 mentions the appointment of the slave and this happened in 1919 after the cleansing of the organisation. Who are the FDS? It is a small group of annointed brothers during Jesus presence serving at Headquarters who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food. This is in line with the scriptural example of how Jehovah has always used a small group of people to teach and dispense spiritual food to the many. In the first century not all of the annointed were involved in dispensing spiritual food. It was only the apostles and older men (governing body) who did so. So it is no longer the thinking that all of the annointed are part of the FDS. Only used to directly impart spiritual food. And the point was made that this does not mean the individual members of the GB are the FDS. They only act as the FDS when they are working as a collective body and making decisions regarding the dispensing of spiritual food.

Who are the Domestics? All who are fed spiritually whether of the annointed or the other sheep. (guess we of the other sheep got a promotion from 'belongings' to 'domestics')

What about verses 46 and 47? It says, happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to you he will appoint him over all his belongings. Vs 46 mentions Jesus arriving. This is not in 1919 when he appointed the FDS but when Jesus comes during the Great Tribulation. This is based on the fact that the Greek word for 'arriving' is similar to those in vs 30 and vs 42 that mention Jesus 'coming'.

So what are the 'belongings'?Previously it was thought that dealt with the earth only. But the scriputre is not that specific. So the belongings include the heavenly and earthly interests. The authority over the belongings will be given after the annointed receive their reward in heaven. So, all of the annointed will eventually be given this authority.

Im sure there are lots of questions about this sum up but at future, Watchtower will explain it in detail.

If those notes are correct it appears they have actually said that Jesus' arrival in Matt 24:46 is in the future, not in 1914 as they used to teach? That is the correct interpretation of course so they get some commendation for that. But this would mean that there has been no appointment over all of the masters "belongings" yet. So when are they saying the first appointment occurred, ie, over all of the "domestics" - 1919? How could it be 1919 if no GB existed at that time - or is it just a small group of men at the Headquarters who wrote all the publications since 1919?

This makes me wonder if they are paving the ground to de-link Jesus arrival as King from 1914 to the great tribulation, which would also be a much more scripturally correct interpretation also.

It really is quite rotten that they appear to now be saying that no one before 1919, not even C T Russell was not one of the faithful and discreet slave. You can imagine the indignation of the Bible Student groups about this new light. Where is RR?

Its also bizarre that they are putting so much weight on 1919, which is clearly just another completely bogus, fictional year in their artificial Bible chrono-prophecy just like the recently abandoned 1935 date was for shutting the door on new anointed ones.

and the actual annointed have no say at all, I wonder how they wil judge this GB. I wonder how they feel,

I would like to see cedars site give opportunity for annointed ones to express their thoughts about the current GB and the events taking place.

Maybe they did it because they know they will loose a bunch of 'annointed ones' (see nut jobs) and get their partaker numbers back in line. Next year there will be a drop of 8k partakers.
