Questions on new understanding (FDS - GB)

Some questions arise with the new understanding:

Was there a Slave class between the 1st century and the 20th century?

In W March 1, 2004, it was stated, that the Slave could not be a single man, because "acording to Jesus words" the slave had started his work in 1st century and would still be in action in 20th century.

Was the Slave in action in 1914?

In W March 1, 2004, they claimed, that the slave class was in action in 1914. The Lord "found them doing so" when he arrived in 1914, and he appointed them over his domestics in 1919.

Was Paul part of the GB?

Up to now, it was told, that the food in the 1st century was prepared by anointed, as all the NT's writers were part of anointed class (see W March 1, 2004). Does the new understanding mean, that all NT's writers - including Paul - were part of GB?

Who formed the GB up to 1971?

I think, this is the easiest of these questions. They have already answered that question in jv, p.233!

In 1971, they did not found GB; they were just expanding GB, that consisted of WTS' Board of Directors members up to that time.

Who ist the "evil slave" (Mat 24:48-51)?

According to W March 1, 2004, the evil slave were members of slave class in 1914.

Due to the new understanding, they'll apply that "prophecy"(??) even more explicitely to the events of 1917...

The paraples of the Ten Virgins and of the Slaves With Talents - do the apply to GB?

Up to now, these parables were explained in connection with the anointed class; as these parables were told by Jesus in the context of the FDS-parable.

The August 15th 2012 Study Watchtower contains something which I personally have never seen in our literature before - five consecutive paragraphs making references to the same topic, namely, the Faithful Slave.

By implication, these paragraphs are knowingly informing us that the Faithful Slave = the Governing Body.

Not once is the phrase"representing the Faithful Slave"used!

10 Human governments may provide health alerts regarding foods and medicines. Obviously, not all foods and medicines are bad. But if a specific product poses a threat, the government may issue balanced warnings to protect its citizens. If the government did not do so, it would be guilty of negligence. Similarly, God’s Kingdom issues timely warnings about specific moral and spiritual dangers. For instance, the Internet has become a useful way to provide communication, education, and entertainment. God’s organization makes use of the Internet and accomplishes much good with it. However, many sites on the Internet are morally and spiritually dangerous. Web sites that promote pornography pose an obvious threat to the spiritual health of Kingdom citizens. For decades, the faithful slave class has warned us about such sites. How grateful we are for these spiritual health alerts!

11 In recent years, another type of site has become very popular—one that can be useful if used with great caution. But these sites, known as social networking Web sites, also have the potential for being destructive. They can expose a person to bad associations. (1 Cor. 15: 33) Little wonder, then, that God’s organization has issued balanced warnings about the use of such sites. Have you read all the recent material published by the faithful slave about the use of social networking sites? How unwise it would be to use such sites without reading that material! It would be like taking a powerful medicine without reading the warning label on the bottle.

12 Those who ignore warnings issued by the faithful slave inevitably cause harm to themselves and to their loved ones. Some have become addicted to viewing pornography or have committed immorality and then deluded themselves into thinking that Jehovah cannot see what they are doing.Howfoolish to believe that we can hide our conduct from Jehovah! (Prov. 15:3; read Hebrews 4:13.) God wants to help such ones and prompts his earthly representatives to try to assist them. (Gal. 6:1) However, just as human governments can revoke the citizenship of a person who commits certain acts, Jehovah will revoke the citizenship of those who unrepentantly break his standards. (1 Cor. 5:11-13) Nevertheless, he is merciful. Those who repent and change their course of conduct can regain a good standing with Jehovah.

13 Many human governments work hard to educate their citizens. They organize schools that promote literacy and teach practical work skills. Kingdom citizens appreciate these secular schools and diligently learn to read, write, and support themselves financially. They value even more highly the education they receive as citizens of God’s Kingdom. Through the Christian congregation, Jehovah promotes literacy. Parents are encouraged to read to their young children. Each month, the faithful slave publishes a number of pages of Bible-based material in The Watchtower and Awake! If you read a couple of pages each day of the month, you will be keeping up with this vital channel of Kingdom education.

14 Each week, Kingdom citizens receive training at their congregation meetings. For example, the Theocratic Ministry School has for over six decades helped students to be effective teachers of God’s Word. Are you enrolled in this school? In recent years the faithful slave has particularly promoted the weekly Family Worship evening. This arrangement strengthens the family unit. Have you been able to apply the suggestions published in our literature?

I thought there were only rumours...

My source seems to be legit so here goes. (Not checked the other AGM thread yet so I don't know if any of what follows is posted there.)

    - Matt. 24:45-47 relates to the time of Jesus' presence so any fulfillment of this text is during this time. The FDS was appointed over the household in 1919.

    - There has been a GB since the first century (apostles and older men) BUT they weren't the FDS of Matt. 24. Therefore, no appointment in 33 CE and no 1,900 year old FDS class since there was nobody consistently dispensing spiritual food and there wouldn't be so until the end time.

    - The "appointment over all the Master's belongings" is now FUTURE when Christ arrives to execute judgment on the world and the FDS is in heaven. The anointed will be glorified at the same time and sit on thrones as judges, kings and priests as Revelation describes.

    - Specifically, the FDS is the select group of anointed men who are directly involved with preparing and dispensing spiritual food during this end time. I.e. at the moment it's the 8 GB members in Brooklyn.

    - The domestics are BOTH the anointed and other sheep who feed on this spiritual food.

    That's the essence of it.

They've tidied up some decades' long anomalies, but now others appear.

Who is the 'evil slave' and what about the Ten Virgins and Talent parables? No info on that.

Edit: I see much of the same has already been posted elsewhere :-)

Here is the thing... If the fds is a future prophcy then the slave wasnt appointed in 1919 and the whole revelation book trumpet blasts crap has to be redone. If they are choosen in the future then they are taking authority NOW that they havent been given yet.... Its a cluster screw anyway they go with this

No, they're just taking away the FDS being appointed over the belongings in 1919, not that the congregations were inspected and chosen by Jesus as the channel for pure worship in the last days. The organization still went through the refinement period and all that, and the trumpet blasts can all remain as they were.

I want to thank everyone for your contributions to this thread. Reading it makes me all the happier that I got the hell out of this execrable organization and has strengthened my resolve to never, ever set foot inside a meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses again for any reason whatsoever!

I feel bad for the people I have left behind. Some are family members while others were friends I loved deeply. But if they choose to accept any of this as “the truth,” then there is nothing I can do for them except hope they’ll come to their senses. The rope is tightening around their necks, but I am sure many will view this latest information as just another proof that Jehovah is leading them to Paradise.

While they may be deluded, that doesn’t mean that they should be absolved of all responsibility for their situation. Unlike twenty years ago when the Internet was a relatively new phenomenon, today TTATT is available to anyone who sincerely wants it. The information is available from any number of online sources. Grasping it means putting aside complacency and embracing courage and humility—qualities the leadership of the WTS does not have. Their followers remind me of those trapped in an abusive relationship who convince themselves things will get better if they stay. They won’t improve—more’s the pity. The day of reckoning for the WTS can’t come soon enough!

    I kinda does already, anyway.

The sequence of events in Fred Franz's End Times scenario - translated into mundane, "real-world" language - might have sounded plausible back when he scripted it in the 50s and 60s, but these days, it's pretty hard-pressed to defend.

Yeah but why would they drag that up? The last thing anyone in JW-land is thinking about is the bleeping trumpet blasts. If there's one thing they should do with that mess, it's to let sleeping dogs lie...
