The more I think about this, the more it is simply madness. I mean, this is absolutely huge! Ina time when politically and socially womens productive and social rights are considered on a marge stage, the ridiculousness of this extention of the mosaic law into 2012, is just amazing.

Honestly, this needs to get out there. The Catholic church may be as loony, but they also don't have the benefit of a communal shunning program to enforce the ridiculousness.

Just amazing. The balls on these people!

you know ... the borg always taught that when jesus was nailed to the 'stake' the law of moses or whatever was nailed on the 'stake' too...signifying the end to that law only leaving the law of love to be followed....

so it would then go that reasonings from the OT are not applicable and once again the WTBTS is "going beyond the things written"

I agree. I see some things on here get blown out of proportion from time to time, but this really is borderline insane. To equate embryo implantation with 'giving one's emission to another's wife', let alone to call a non-sexual act porneia... I bet this has stumbled a number of R&F believers.

I'm baffled over the conflict of Lev 18, and the rationale used in the Creator Book in saying it's ok in one instance, but explains is ok in the other.

The was a good finding, should I call it a blooper that has been uncovered in our explainations.

I was more blown away in the same article by the statement that destroying the unused frozen embryos is a conscience matter for the matter couple. Hasn't the Society always taught that life begins at conception? Or are they arguing that IVF isn't conception until it's implanted in the womb?

Oh, wow, I didn't know that, Fencing. I finally just read the article. They don't state that it's implantation that makes it a life, but instead they draw a comparison between thawing the embryos and thus allowing them to die, and taking someone off life support and thus allowing them to die. So they are basically saying that, yes, any fertilized egg is a life, but if the parents aren't in a position to have all those embryos become children, they can allow them to die by thawing them, much as it's acceptable to take someone off life support if they show no sign of recovery. I'm not really sure that they are comparing apples to apples here, but that's the explanation.
