Sorry if that seems a little long.

But how does one object to hundreds of false doctrines?

Traditional orthodox and protestant ideas are much closer to the truth. It took me nine months to defeat the salvation by works idea alone.

I feel confident in the validity of many or most traditional Christain beliefs.

The WT contradicts and promotes hatred of traditional Christian Churches. "Christendom" means the domain of Christ, yeah, and they don't want to be any part of Christendom either.

    Get it?

Look at http://www.sbc.net/bfm/bfm2000.asp The Baptist Faith and Message. The preamble of which states, " That they are statements of religious convictions, drawn from the Scriptures, and are not to be used to hamper freedom of thought or investigation in other realms of life."

Independant (from WT men) thinking. Yeah.

Don't fear a false prophet or the demon dread WT ideas. Demons don't jump out of words into YoUr BrAiN.

Even if Russell was not a bonified Freemason as a member that doesn't take away from his self imposed notoriety as a true bible

interpreter from the public, purposely and intensionally distinguishing himself from main stream Christendom.

He wanting to shine the light on him so to speak and Freemason Halls were just the places to do just that, remember that Freemason halls were

pretty much non-denominational but obviously Christian based by its membership, so all he had to do is speak about the bible and god

and he had a free Hall to speak in.

This was his advocating agenda, to draw up much attention to himself and toward the literature he was trying to sell.

Perhaps he saw himself as a personal builder of Christ's newly arranged Kingdom on earth but used " I am also a Freemason "

    only in a metaphorically sense.

The laughably ironic thing about Russell and Rutherford is that they were still supporting Pyramidology when Rutherford announced

that they were the organization that god selectively choose among all others, oh well that commercialism in the realm of

religious charlatans, they have to market themselves in one way or the other.

mizpah2 , thanks for your research, all very interesting, as are Fuzzy Paul's comments.

The preacher Barker, quoted above was proud that he had predicted the war in 1913, one year before it started. He was a long way behind Winston Churchill, who had written about it before the turn of the Century, and by 1913 had written a prediction of the events of the first weeks of war, which turned out to be remarkably prescient.

Of course, Churchill was using his soldiers knowledge and common sense, not Bible mumbo-jumbo, but his predictions were a lot more accurate than Barker's,Russell's and Rutherford's.

I am a practicing Freemason and Past Master of several Lodges in the UK . Also actively involved in a number of other "Orders" including Knight's Templar & Red Cross of Constantine .

My partner is also a non-practicing Witness . She has not been "dis-fellowshiped " yet ... I therefore have a working knowlage of both of these organisations .

Freemasons are free thinkers and can think what they like ... This in NOT what The Jehova's witnesses are allowed to do ... THINK FOR THEM SELVES , education of any form is actively discouraged .

She was raped by her Paternal Granddad . Physically and emotionally abused by the bloke whom "The Congregation" suggested she marry .Guess what when she asked her family or "Elders " for help she was told to go away read the Bible and pray for her own forgiveness .

I can assure you this would not be tolerated in any form of Freemasony or should it be society in GENERAL .

She has now lost here family as they will not talk to her in fear of their own plight ! of being "disfellowshipped ".

How can this Society be any thing other than in serious need of exposure ?

Yours in Sincerely and fraternally , in the Bonds of the Order and in Faith Hope and Zeal .

    mizpah-

very interesting photos indeed...i suppose you are trying to make a connection between freemasons and the watchtower...my question to you is...

...how did the watchtower's (or more precisely Russell's ) views differ from those of masonry?

and thanks beforehand for your responses..

You might find this interesting Elephant. The website owner is 'for' Russell (think he comes on JWN too). Read the discourse and make your own mind up. For me there are more questions than answers.
