'M' was like: 'Well if he believes that about you without any evidence, what must he base his religious beliefs on!?!?'

Very insightful comment that . . . your friend hit the nail on the head.

Mind control doesn't need evidence . . . lack of evidence is part of the WTS brand.

All the best Unky . . . you couldn't really have handled it any better.

sizemik - That's 'M' all over. He's a smart chap. He rags me about the rumours every morning at work now. He thought I was exagerating until he was called on.

I'm glad it's been a well deserved shout of reproach on the brand name god of the watchtower (trading as Jehovah's witnesses (TM) ). May there be much more reproach to come against that paedo protection racket!

Most people don't give a shit about JW's as you know . . . the most exposure they get these days is being ragged in a TV sit-com.

But it's different when worldly folks get this crap pushed in their face like 'M' . . . he's not likely to forget and will probably mention it to others now. As these tactics become more prevalent, more people get to be familiar with their nutty behaviour. When push comes to shove with them . . . they will find little sympathy.

sizemik - I was able to share the UK Guardian's news paper article about 'mentally diseased apostates' with some at work via hyperlink on email.

They were surprised as the general concensus of opinion is that JWs are likely your favourite aunt, nutty but harmless.

Perceptions change with the information received.

Yep . . . I got as much mileage out of the article as I could also. It's good to remember the perception is changed permanently as well. At any future time, whenever those folks hear JW's mentioned, they will respond according to that new perception . . . kinda like a slow moving virus. But it does fertilise the ground for any future bad publicity . . . and that's just a matter of time. The tipping point will come . . . and there poor behaviour will only hasten that . . . and come back to bite their ass. Khama.

wasblind - Your gran was a great person and truly wise!!

designs - I love the Baptists here in the UK, the ones I've met are charitable and loving. As for AA, that could be 2 things in the UK, Alchoholics Anonymous or the Automobile Association. We get confused! Is the piston broke or are we pissed and broke?!?!?!?
