You mean the brother's wife that "shot herself"?

That seemed REALLY suspicious from the little I heard about it.

BTW, I thought brothers in general and elders in particular aren't supposed to own handguns!!! Hmmmm, ....

OODAD, ROTFL!!!! Your earlier posts on this thread are so funny because they are soooo true! (Think Seinfield) I've observed most of these ridiculous rules in former congs (excepy the colored markers) THAT one gets my Jackass award for all time most ridiculous! I have one more to add by the CO (this one was made for ALL congs in his circuit): "no child under high school age is allowed to go to the bathroom without being accompanied by a parent." I kid you not, it seems someone had strewn toilet paper on the foor a left a big dugan in the toilet. So he made the rule. I saw parents escort kids as tall as they were to the bathrooms. Tallk about disruptive! (I refused to cooperate with this one).

3rdgen: I'm glad you appreciate my humor. I was beginning to think I was only amusing myself here. And you know self-amuse is certainly grounds for a good-talking to by one of the elders! Just ask André. (See my post there for details!)

3rdgen: Yeah, I quit accompanying my two sons to the bathroom when they were 5 or 6, not 15 or 16.

That was later. BTW that elder was dating how soon after her death? Like a week?

The sister I was refering to would play piano at the KH when she was in town. She had a daughter that was baptized at 8 during the stay alive in 75 campaign. The daughter was later df'd at 15 yr old. Later the daughter moved out. Well the brothers would stake her house out to see if the daughter was visiting. These brothers were mercilous. The sister was marked, no one would talk to her. So one day she pulled her car in the garage, closed the door, turned on the engine, and killed herself.

Now that you mentioned guns, the elders in that congragtion held back a baptismal candidate because he wouldn't sell all his guns. He was a collector.

Nope, I don't think I knew about the piano playing sister. Maybe if you PM'd her name I'd recall.

Brothers staking our her house need to get a life!

Regarding the brother who's wife shot herself: His initials were BM, correct?

I didn't know her at all, but I do know she was much younger than him.

Not long after that, maybe a few years, he gave a talk in Moorpark where I moved. He spent most of the time talking about his suits and what a "clothes horse" he was. It was so bad that I was assigned to call DR of White Oak and tell him (I was the TMSO at the time).

"White Shirts are the only appropriate shirt to wear." Driving a two door car is not Christlike. Perfume, Short Skirts, Denim, pants for women, Jerry Garcia Ties, answering your cell phone during meeting (doctors on call, Opps.) ect.... If a elder heard you playing Led Zep or Ozzy, your out. Rumors abounded about the brothers expelled at Bethel for listening to Metallica. So our elders were careful to limit the music to Kingdom Melodies.

    Matthew 23
    Jesus Criticizes the Religious Leaders

1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. [a] 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.

5 “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels. [b] 6 And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues. 7 They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’ [c]
