    The process of reproduction has, according to some people (a few), evolved. It now works. Working means it has come to an end of it's (evolutionary) journey.

    I shall try to simplify the question. Please define the missing link between becoming something and being a functioning something.

    Put this in the brain. A bunch of organic matter forming, forming forming ect ect.... then voila! It does something.
