January 2012 WT Study edition on PDF pulled from JW.org website

  The WT Study edition is getting a facelift for the new year.

  The January issue had been posted on JW.org but...

  the BOEs hadn't received notice by letter of such a change.

  The WTS likes to play up every opportunity to have a new release.

  This time the JW.org techies jumped the gun and went on to post

  the issues for download according to their established schedule.

  Unfortunately, they went ahead of the FDS/GB who too late

  realized the cat was out of the bag, sort of saying.

  Well, it got pulled off the website, for now at least.

  What's so secretive about it?

  The new Layout of the WT edition will be more like the Simple English version\

  of the WT, as it seems there's been a huge increase in requests from

  congregations for the Simple English edition and a reduced need for the

  regular study edition.

  Can the WT studies really get any more simple minded?

  I think us "apostates" are more anxious to read the new publications than the rank and file! LOL

  I try really hard to nicely wrap gifts. There's nothing better than a great gift in a great package.

  But when the great package is opened and is garbage like WT study articles, no facelift or fancy cover or whatever they've done can make up for that.

  BTW due to the web bug beacon in use at JW.org I'd rather wait for the traceable file to come up again for download when the "Branch" gets its act together.

  bnybyt, are you saying that the regular study edition that everyone receives will now be similar in format to the Simplified Version? If so, I see a lot more people leaving. Because at that point the Watchtower Study becomes an obvious read-and-repeat-what-was-just-read show.

  Yes, the new format is more like the simple English version.

  If you were at today's WT Study you wouldn't have said that

  it would become "an obvious read-and-repeat-what-was-just-

  read show"... That's what it already is in practice.

  But what matters to the GB is numbers and the numbers are

  pointing to more Simple English and less Study WT editions.

  It isn't just foreigners and children who are using the simple

  English WTs, some publishers are commenting how they

  much prefer the simple English to "study" from.
