Obama has openly said that he believes government should decide what percent of rich peoples wealth they can keep, and they should be taxed accordingly - that is, they should be taxed specifically to reduce their wealth, because somehow it is unfair to others that they have become wealthy.

James, can you provide a link?

    James,

I agree with your selection of those high profile people as being generally good (Except for Billy Gates, I’ll never forgive him for not returning my calls back in 1978 about Microsoft’s wretched Basic Compiler…)

There are a lot of other people who are accumulating wealth as some would say unjustly...

I don't have a link, but he said it plainly during the Debt extension debate a few days ago, and Charles Krauthamer called him on it during the Bret Baier evening news panel.

What is the definition of a "rich person"?

Just speaking from my own viewpoint, I am talking about the FILTHY RICH,,, those who are making many millions off the backs of the poor and THEY are the ones the government is protecting.

I wish I had the name of the doc, but a video was made by the heir of the "Johnson & Johnson" empire (you know, the baby products), and he interviewed a lot of his friends (trust fund babies). The point of the doc was how these 'born into richness of Croeses kids' felt that the system is unfair, and it is a real eye-opener to how our society favours the extremely rich, and we NEED A CHANGE,,, from one of their own.

This is not about socialism (and yes, I am a socialist/anarchist if I had to choose a description) ,,, it's about the fact that the greed of the ruling class is overtaking the needs of the many (sounds kinda Vulcan, right? well, that is my nickname ... Spock :D )

    What makes a person "rich"?

If they earn their wealth, should we require a ceiling on just how much we'll let them have?

Should we demand to have a say in the rest?

Are poor people noble because they are poor.

Does being poor mean other people should take care of you?

How these questions are answered by each of us determines how we view such things as Taxes and Entitlements.

    If they earn their wealth

umm, no,,, that's who I'm talking about,,, those who inherited it,,, and are avoiding taxes ... let's not obfuscate, ,,, inherited wealth determines what happens in Western society, just the same as the Saudi princes determine what happens in their country ..

that's the problem .. we want to pacify ourselves and tell ourselves how 'good' we have it,.,, and yes, we do!,,, but the ruling class is living off us, and we are struggling for every fricking penny, while they sit back and profit off of the good fortune of their ancestors ..

let's wake up and smell the coffee

do you enjoy being a slave so that your taxes can fund the 'rich-can-have-tax-breaks-thanks-to-their-high-priced-lawyers-?

Does being poor mean other people should take care of you

YES ,,, and why not? This is one of my main complaints against Capitalisim .... our intrinsic value cannot be determined by how much money we make ;;; if it is, then what are we??? Just cogs in a wheel ...

    thoughts?

Respectfully, this is a paraphrase, not a direct quote. If it is a direct quote, my apologies. And yes please link us to a youtube, video or non fox/ non gop slanted news link.
