I could see that.. new light being: It was wrong for David to order a count of Isreal and it displeased God, and so it is wrong for them to keep a count of Spiritual Isreal.

Wouldn't "The Organization" be in a better position if they did keep track of the anointed?

Those who serve in responsible positions have a chain of oversight to keep unity and hopefully weed out you apostate elders.

Perhaps keeping a registry of the faithful slave class at HQ would enable them to exercise more control over this most important group. Perhaps the "city overseers" could be reassigned as "slave class overseers". Shouldn't those renegade wine sippers have some kind of corporate control mechanism? Afterall, they are the "Jews" whose skirt the other sheep grab ahold of. Of all of the different segments of this religion, you would think the F&DS class would be the most important to have accountability to it's Governing Body.
