I will start it off with-thetrueone

"Postulating religionists are really illusionists by using suggestive words to accomplish a state of believability."

I know you're looking for quotes, but I hope you won't mind if I paste this post by betterdaze, cuz I thought it was classic. It was regarding Jose Mestre, the man with no face, and his JW background. In this thread.

Who got the ball rolling to give Mestre a new lease on life?

An anonymous stranger! A "wordly" tourist "soon to be destroyed" at Armageddon, who saw Jose on the street and was moved to help.

    Who paid for it?

The Portuguese National Health Service, an arm of Satan's wicked, worldwide government. Also STB destroyed.

    Who performed the surgery?

Dr. McKay, a university-educated specialist with a 25-year history of performing corrective surgeries, not knocking on doors. Not a door-knocking JW = STB destroyed.

    Where?

At a rotten pagan Roman Catholic hospital founded by nuns, whores of Babylon the Great. STB really, really destroyed!

Bonus question: Who sat by for 40 years while this man suffered physically, emotionally and spiritually?

The Jehovah's Witnesses! Ah, but they Will Live Forever on Paradise Earthâ„¢.

    "Peter" the tourist

    Portuguese National Health Service

    Dr. McKay

    St. Joseph Hospital

    Jehovah's Witnesses

It is all good MLE pile it on

    This is one from Jer(OntheWayOut)

I believe a spiritual journey is essential for most everyone. (I say "most" because some love distractions in their life and/or happen to be content with whatever they have found, be it family or purpose or work or whatever, and don't really search.)

But I also believe (mind you, I am an unbeliever now) that it doesn't have to be for "the truth" as JW's taught us. When I realized that I was not seeking some higher truth or higher purpose to life itself, I was able to focus on personal truth (Who am I?) and personal purpose (What do I want to do with myself?)

I just saw BORN TO BE WILD 3D which is about a lady who rescues baby elephants and another lady that rescues baby orangatans. They both eventually return them to the wild. These ladies have found a spiritual path that has nothing to do with the ultimate religious/scientific/universal "truth." Most everyone can do something toward finding their own purpose in life. It will be different for every person.

There are so many. I would hate to try to search them out.
For a lazy Saturday search, I can post something from my own threads.

On my holiday h8 thread, ranmac made a brilliant observation that I just couldn't get over. It was soooooo good IMHO:

    I agree with the vampire.

I dont like a religion controlling my life, but I also dont like the world telling me what day I should celebrate life, be romantic with my wife, appreciate my mother, appreciate my father, stuff my face-hole with turkey, dress up like Wolverine, or blow all my money on someone I love.

There's plenty of ways to be a mindless sheep. Religion is just one. But that's just my opinion.
