On Page 22 of the Awake December 2010 is an asterix next to the word fornication. At the bottom of the page in smaller writing is the following definition

"* The Bible term "Fornication" refers not only to intercourse but also to acts such as masturbating another person or engaging in oral sex or anal sex" As to how a person feels about anal or oral sex can vary greatly and many probably don't engage in it. To see a current magazine state that masturbating another person is Fornication is unbelievable. Surely all loving couples try to arouse their partner at one time or another and more likely often by stimulating their partners sexual organs. So guys might not need it as much as females but nature usually means that a female takes much longer than a male to become aroused and reach a climax. It can be over for a guy in a few minutes if he allows it but often is more considerate to his partner and finds ways to assist her in enjoying the experiance more fully. As men get older they may sometimes need a little additional help also. I don't know what they think foreplay is but it doesn't leave much if masturbation is out. There was an article years ago that said Fornication can occur in marriage and if it is unwillingly forced upon a mate then that mate has grounds for scriptural divorce but they retracted that. Seems to me it should still stand if they think Fornication includes masturbating another person.

When a woman tells me she's never masturbated I tend to wonder if she's ever had an orgasam.

Although fornication often refers to relations with persons outside the marriage the JW teaches that it can also include "all forms of immoral sex relations" and have previously stated the oral and anal sex should not be performed within a marriage so on their reasoning either should manipulation of the sexual organs.

    W1976 2/15

Unnatural practices in connection with sex in marriage, such as oral and anal copulation, have caused some of God’s people to become impure in his eyes. But TheWatchtower kept above this morass of filth by alerting married couples to God’s thinking on the matter. Also, fornication (por·nei′a, Greek), which is so detestable in God’s sight, was shown to include all forms of immoral sex relations. (1 Cor. 6:9, 10)

I've looked up every reference to fornication in the Watchtower Library. It is always applied outside of marriage. The 1976 article is not stating that oral/anal sex in a marriage is fornication. Rather it is just unnatural/unclean.

    Interesting, veeeerrry interesting...

I once thought that fornication was outside marriage but pornea could be inside...

I see they have now brought them together... by a small blanket statement.

another case of ambiguous statements that allow elders to pick and choose what may be brazen conduct i wonder?

It is also in the Insight book under Fornication page 863

In patricarchal society God's faithful servants hated fornication, whether between single, engaged, or married persons, and it was considered a sin against God.

Now for proof brothers lets all turn to "imaginary bible book that deals with sex" "chapter dealing with sex" and "verse that deals with sex"

Would the first to find it please give the page number so that we can all read it together.

As a teenager, i remember thinking. "So, they expect you to not ever masturbate, and when you start dating, never go beyond light kisses and hugs (if even) and when you DO actually get married not to do anything beyond Missionary style, WTF!?!?!". Just the idea of being in a relationship where what i do or enjoy sexually is dictated by people who i couldn't care less about gives me the shivers.

Listener, thanks for the Insight reference. I wonder if that is due to the difference between 'zanah' (hebrew) and 'pornea' (greek). The insight article makes reference to 'zanah' in the above statement. I should have stated above that I've only ever seen 'pornea' applied by the watchtower to sexual activity outside of marriage. But I stand to be corrected...
