    This from an e_mail site.

Governing Body member John (Jack) Barr has died (or, "completed his earthly course") on Saturday, December 4, 2010.
Bro Barr died at Walkill aged 97 after 71 years of full time service - 23 years as a member of the Governing Body in New York .

it has already been mentioned here already except for his history in the Watchtower and where he died at Wallkill. Interesting! Did he collapsed there?

I was also getting a kick out of the "or, "completed his earthly course"" comment. Obviously inspired by the silly notion that he went straight to his heavenly reward. But of course they have it so much more correct than christendom.

He's not dead - he's just resting! ...or maybe he's pining for the fjords.

Beautiful plumage he has now, don't he?

JW's hate the eternal soul concept, yet wish it for themselves. They want to think they will never die, and that their leaders change in the twinkling of an eye. There wouldn't be any JWs with their soul sleep doctrine if they though the new system was 10,000 years off.

Therevealer, he has been on the gb for 33 years, not 23 years.

The dude now knows that Jesus is Jehovah and that he has wasted his life serving a false prophet. God's heart and mine grieves that he was a victim of a false organization.

There is no soul sleep and he is more alive at this moment than ever before awaiting his future resurrection at the Great White Throne judgment at the end of the Millennium.

Or like all men and women before him, he has ceased to exist, except in the memory of those who knew him.

Believe what you like, the facts support the above, not some belief in a "heaven".

    "finished his earthly course"

    heresy at it's utmost.

So the GB is down to a mere 7 members?!?

    That's pretty significant.
