You wanna know the funniest part of this riddle..... after quizzing my mom, and getting a laugh over the "missing dollar" which she can never find, I try and try and try to tell her how to figure it out, and she can never catch on. I'm like mom Look if the three men paid 30 dollars for the room and got a 5 dollar discount they then paid 25 dollars for their room, they each have a dollar and the bell hop has 2 which is the 5 dollar discount.......and she thinks s for a bit, hums haws, and then just when you think she has it she goes: But if they each got a dollar back that means they paid nine dollars for the room 9x3=27 and the bell hop has 2, that is 29 where is the missing dollar again.....!!!!! AGGGGHHHHH

IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!! I get the whole they only paid 25, but thinking about it from the other perspective hurts my brain.

HARMINIZED SALES TAX dont you know that this is NOT a new tax, just a combination of the GST and the PST, Get with the program, it starts like this:

2 taxes went on a ski trip, however both had forgotten to take all my money, they used to seperatly charge me- somethings they both charged me but over all my taxes were much much lower, infact people liked to dine at my place of buisness because they only paid 5% not 12% of their bill. But Gordon Campbell came along and highly enhanced the tax plan combined it to make it simpler, and gave a bigger REFUND! Dont you want a REFUND? You need to Just Listen better and FIND GORDONS DOLLAR! (i need 3200 asap please!!!)

The 2 dollars are already within the 27 dollars the men paid. The hotel has 25 dollars and the bellhop has 2 dollars. That comes out to the 27 dollars paid. Your fuzzy math would be useful to get from the end of the world in 1914 to the end of the world in 2034 or maybe something else. Are those pyramid inch dollars or U.S. dollars?

I dont have alot of posts left for this current 24 hour period, however I have more posts then dollars, so I will give the current understanding of the riddle:

There are three men who have gone skiing there were 144000 people skiing that weekend and they booked up all the hotel rooms, but one. And those three that are one, and are one with a room They "Paid" for the dirty worldly hotel 30 pieces of silver. It cost them their lives,(btw they were all impaled on a stake NOT a spruce tree on the way down the mountain) and then the bell hop who we clearly see by his deciept is the devil, and did not follow the Hotel Manager's DIRECTION stole 2 dollars from the 3 who are one room. (notice here the "with" is missing and NOT capitalized, thus the original translation from Greek proves the hotel mangers binder to be correct) Now a very BIG point I forgot to mention But futher looking at the shape of the "pyramid" style A frame ski lodge, we can clearly see theese 3 are Brothers, (triangles have three sides THAT IS A FACT LOOK IT UP) ahh haah now you know the generations will keep over lapping. So CLEARLY 27x 66 = 1914 DUH!!!!! If you have touble with my numbers dont worry you really dont need to worry about it, the Hotel Manager will tell you what you think, and clearly used muddled up reasoning to give you PROOF so that you too can live for the day, when you will get the missing dollar!

If you think you where one of the 144000 people that had the high calling to ski that weekend........the hotel manager wants you to go away and forget about how important you are to his plan. Frankley you need to Live forever or die, we will give you a memo soon. anyother changes will be decided upon as I randomly see fit. (shoot i mean when the hotel manager sees it brighter)

Threads like this are fun, but they also illustrate important points:

1. We could probably each pick an upcoming year at random and, by manipulating numbers in the Bible, come up with that year. If need be, we could make up a date like 607 BCE when something supposedly happened in order to arrive at whatever year we wanted. (Look at how the WT took its original date of 1874 and added a 40 year harvest to it to arrive at 1914).

2. We can assign symbolic significance to other Bible numbers (30 pieces of silver, for example) to support our other numbers.

3. We can always claim that something happened invisibly which takes "eyes of understanding" to see. Those who don't agree with us must be blind.

4. We can always make obscure doctrines out of nothing as well. For example, we know the WTS opposes birthday celebrations and cites a couple examples in the Bible where some pagan celebrated a birthday and something awful happened.

We could just as well claim that followers of Jehovah should never get a haircut based on what happened to Samson. To back this up, we could point out that Nazirites, who made a special vow of devotion to God, were not to let a razor touch their heads. Wouldn't this bolster the idea that the deeper a man's commitment to the FDS (elder, pioneer, Bethelite, etc.), the greater the importance of not getting a haircut?

If the Watchtower suddenly came out with "new light" like this and created a "Nazirite class," wouldn't JWs take it very seriously and look down on male dubs who had SHORT hair?

I wonder if GB members don't sit back and marvel at the power they have over people's lives when they come out with legalistic obedience tests such as this.
