I have found tranquility to replace WTS. I took some vacations and, instead of finding the local Kingdom Hall, I found the beach. I read a book on a beach chair and snorkled. At home, I ride a bicycle. Often, I ride to the zoo and stop and watch the seals or the polar bear or the ducks at the lake. Outside of the zoo, I bring bread crumbs (from old bread) for the ducks, but not those nasty geese. I enjoy sunsets and the museums and just walking.
Good luck with finding a church. Not for me.
You and only you can decide. If you are innately religious, you can try other churches. You can try the Catholic churches, and several mainstream Protestant churches, and if you find one you like, you can stick with that.
If you are not into religion, you can do whatever you see fit. Occasionally going to a church is an option. You can also join a club, or start a hobby (one that you couldn't while you were a witless, at that). School is a recommended option for many. Take a few courses, if just to see if you like one of them. Or, take up a sport you always wanted to but couldn't because it interfered with attendance at boasting sessions or field circus. If you so desire, you might take up playing music or the arts. Volunteer at something worthwhile. Your imagination is the limit--you don't need the Kingdumb Hell.
Religion is a contradiction from God.
Don't let someone else tell you what God wants to do with you.
You go no where, but figure out the truths about life for yourself. IMHO it has a lot more to do with how you treat people and your general demeanor and attitude about life and family and friends, then it does abiding by rules. Treat people the way you want to be treated, say you are sorry often, be generous, don't be scrimpy on love and affection, you will find happiness and go far. I do not believe in Karma per se, but I believe big time in the religion of "pay it forward." Not a religion obviously, but a belief and life practice system.
What I think you mean to say, is how do I find my own identity, be my authentic self? You are missing the LABEL that is so prevalent in JW thinking. Guess what, you don't need a label. You are YOU. So be you and find how to make yourself happy.

The question really isn’t a “‘where’ do we go,” although it is the question the Society writes in its literature, although it is the question asked by many Witnesses, the question really is a “to whom shall we go?” Thus, your seeming assumption that now you go to bible believing churches is not quite right. (Certainly you can go there and no one is going to stop, nor should they.) Talk about God and His Son, yes. However, know that the Holy Spirit will only lead you to his Father, Jah. Worshipping God is about forming a relationship with God and His Son. It’s not about bible study, attending churches, and things like that. It’s about relationship.
If you want to hear the sayings of eternal life, then you must listen to the Christ when he speaks to you. And he will speak to you, if he hasn’t already. If you’re not interested in the sayings of eternal life, then don’t listen when He speaks to you.

the whole idea im trying to show seems to have been missised! Visit new churches make new freinds, do not find one and park yourself their continue ascociating with new people makeing new freinds just like jesus and the apostles did. dont follow totaly foolish advice of abandoneing any religeion and amuseing yourself with whatever the darkside offers! the darkside has anything you want! sex,dope money music,fast cars, sports,yes i said sports how godly is it to fight over a pigs bladder for$ or watch 2 people pretend to fight for$ and their you are sitting in front of a low leval xray machine slowly bakeing every cell in your body! yes if you are going to say the heck with god and set their with a joint rolled up. do me a favor shoot a gram or two of heroine into your arm while your at it! its not my job to pay your welfare, and jail, and probation, fees so you can laugh at sin! the bible says fools joke about sin! well anyway do good stuff not dumb stuff! with your time
