    I forgot to mention that this meeting thing will take place because last month the local needs were about Facebook and that's why they want to talk about it.The "mother" cares about her children LOL

    Peter, do you live a home with your parents? Why are the elders doing this instead of your parents? Just don't go, have a plausible reason.

    heh heh... When they really blast the Internet, you could say, "The group on JWN said you would say that..."

    My grandmother told me there's been alot of counsel lately from the platform about watching your association with even non-attenders.
    Maybe they are starting to crack down on "faders".

    If where I live is any kind of indicator, then they have a lot to worry about. The faders who have awakened are growing in numbers...and are associating with active ones. From what I'm hearing there are a bunch of active ones that have awakened but continue to fake it for various reasons. It's starting to snowball and the WTS knows it...

    Peter,

    I guess if I was you I would just listen. You know, to be fair, yes there are dangers on the internet, especially for kids. And in that way, I agree that facebook and other sites can be dangerous. But like all dangers there is a balanced way to handle it. The WT way is to say "Stay away from it all!" I tend to think they are strong about all of this, not because of the sexual dangers for children, but because of the "danger" of reading things contrary to their view. I can't say for sure, but that's the way it looks to me.

    The way to handle these dangers is not to forbid access to these things, but to teach your kids well. They should know how to spot a predator. They should have good morals and values. But in the end, the internet will not be stopped. I was forbid to date growing up. But I snuck all over the place and did it all with alot of girls. That's the way of kids. If you forbid something that is naturally going to happen, they will find a way around it. Lock the door, nail the windows, it won't matter. So teach the kids well.

    Also teach them to be open thinkers and to be intelligent. The reason many kids can be taken advantage of by predators is because the only things they are taught come from the WT, and that is pretty shallow.

    trick = deceive = lie

    It's not lying according to the WTS if the individual is not "entitled" to know the truth citing "liars" such as Rahab and Jesus.

    Sounds like you have an active group of elders there! I've never heard of such a thing. If you don't feel like going, don't go...or have an excuse so you can leave early if you feel like it.

    I also agree with Superpunk. I can bet you anything that some of the elders holding this meeting will be jerking it to porn later on that same night.
