As with all new things, the novelty is begining to wear off. America isn't quite ready for a black man as president. I think he's being demonised as a socialist, but we all have a long way to go before all the racism and prejudices come to an end in this country.

I dont think there will ever be a time when this country would be "ready" for a minority president. The issue needed to be addressed. Its like waiting until you are financially stable to have children. What...when you are ready for retirement? :) I love the mans face forward, tell it like it is, take no prisoners attitude. He has a helluva mess to clean up and that mess was NOT created by him, so we only have up to go from where the Bushes left us. War, recession, housing in the dumpster, joblessness, banks and big car manufacturers going bust...yep...all those things that were caused by "white men" in charge of those institutions.

His color has absolutely nothing to do with his ability to do his job. I think it gives him strength and understanding of people that most of us dont or cant, understand.

So...to answer the question. I still love the guy and am proud he is our president.

I voted for Obama based on his campaign promises, thus far he has done none of what he said. If this changes so will my support. Right now I'm not thrilled with him.

Yes, quite a few people did, and many still do. That's why the phrase "The Lord Messiah Obama (or just LM Obma) is common in some conservative circles.

He's on a learning curve, but at least he has ideas.

That was an awesome comment I agree with. The economy was already in the trouble and John McCain already demonstrated that he would support similar "spend-to-death" measures to bail out of it. I disagree with the tactic, but whichever guy was in there was going to do it.

President Obama is just another guy who got in. I bet there wouldn't be a nickel's difference between his or Hilary's administration.

I wasn't registered (inactive fader) but I was a one-issue person: I was ready to end the nonsense in the Middle east. It really hasn't happened, but it certainly is further along than McCain would have had it. I certainly didn't want a Mormon cult member as president. There were some good alternatives that didn't get into the final running, so Obama is the lesser of some evils.

I think he can stop trying to focus on several things and just focus on the economy and pulling out of Iraq.

So, am I thrilled with President Obama? No, but I give him kudos for trying to pull us out of the mess he was handed and give him more time to do it.

I am still thrilled with Michelle Obama, though.

And real socialism (even better- communism) is not so terrible. You sound McCarthy-istic just throwing it out there like it's evil.
