For me it was a long combination of things and eventually I just knew I couldn't do it anymore. It got ridiculous at the end. The hypocrisy and the dumb doctrines were enough!

Utter hypocrisy of the majority of it's members.
Lack of love.
Dogmatism over scriptures that have clearly and definitively been misapplied.
Just couldn't sit in silence anymore, had to leave.

an elder cofessing "feelings " for me i was not even a study anymore and had been told elders advice comes from jehovah it made me realise that the advice he had given me and the man i was in love with had nothing to do with jehovah and "the truth set me free "

It was a number of things, but the one that made me wake up and smell the coffee was a talk about higher education at a CA in the spring of 1988. I thought it was based on a false hope and I wanted something better for my children.
