    Go see her anyway.
Neither of you will regret it, especially Gran.

I think that's the answer, too.

Even if she's mad for you seeing her, you may feel regret if you don't and never can again.
If you do the visit, get shunned, and she never sees you again, your conscience will be clear.

    Just go anyway.

Tell her, if she makes a fuss, that you wanted to be able to tell her, yourself, that you love her.

    don't torture yourself.

wish her your best from afar.

    Sorry about this, Lou.

Jesus condemned Pharisees for letting the minutiae of law get in the way of Love and Mercy.

This is a terrible example, and is why more and more JWs realize there's something terribly wrong.

    All the best,

    WC

There is a small downside to going to see her. She may shun you just a bit more and that feels bad. The upside is huge. When someone is staring eternity in the face like that, their priorities can make a big change, and things they thought were important are not, while things they neglected become very important. Even if she is in her shunning silence, she can not cross the street to run away as you sit there by her, hold her hand and speak your truth to her. Even if she does not respond in kind, she will know, and you won't be sorry.
