I was speaking to a family member who is still a JW in very good standing and she told me that last week she was told by an elder of very good repute in my old congregation this:-

He has been told that any of the current governing body when they die WILL NOT BE REPLACED!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot even begin to take this in!

Is this perhaps the beginning of the wts starting to wind down it's high control status and become like a mainstream Christian outfit?

Or conversely is it the latest ploy to make the R'n'F believe that the end is indeed near!!!

They have no more dates set for the near future for the end of the system so do they figure that if they say the GB are the last in line before the big "A" then all the JW's will be energised?

What do you guys think?

I honestly think it's nonsense. Do you know how many rumours have floated around here from "reputable" sources?

I hope it is true, Ken. But in all probability it isn't.

How many are there now? Nine?

There have been loads of rumours over the past year or so, some have panned out, others not. I guess we'll find out how true this one is next time one of the governing body dies?

***It stands to reason, that with the 144 000 "increasing"...perhaps they are going to have to do SOMETHING. Perhaps they see, that since us apostates see how much of a JOKE the whole system is, maybe its just a matter of time till the r&f start asking some of these "simple" questions. If it IS true, they will be getting a lesson from us "FADERS". How ironic. They are probaly learning from US!!

This is some statement made at a family dinner by someone considered important, and has got some legs since. I would totally disregard this. Do you think for a second that there isn't a Judge Rutherford in the wings, waiting to pounce on the opportunity for more power? They will appoint someone.
