I remember Paul Illingworth. Went on a shepherding call on an elderly sister in my congo with him. The sister was an old family friend of his. At the time the Society was transitioning the CO's to driving Buicks, but Paul would not part with his Volvo. He was pretty laid back when I dealt with him. Loved to ski as I remember.
Illingworth helped out our elder body in dealing with CO Alan Hood with whom we had some real battles. Illingworth was very reasonable, Hood was not.
A favorite CO was Ray Harriman. He reminded us a lot of Tim Conway. Very funny. Every time he visited, a bunch of us would take him down to the range and do a bunch of target shooting. That was obviously before the WTS clamped down on their view of firearms.

D.O. Hartman - This guy had a voice and mannerisms that the kids just loved mimicking. And he was such a hard-liner all the elders were terrified of him.
C.O. Robert Bishop. Or (R. Bishop). He would say "Whenever I'm coming for a visit, tell the children to take time off of school. They can tell the principal that R. Bishop is coming for a visit and they'll be sure to get the time off". I remember as a teenage boy he would take all the young guys out on the ministry, and he was obsessed with falic symbols which he would explain to us. Strange alright. I don't know if he ever tried to put the moves on any of the guys, but it was a bit creepy.

I remember Raftopolis as a DO and I remember Ray Hayes...A pioneer I knew changed the words of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to Ray Hayes the Thumbless Elder. The kids had fun going around singing it...
