So tonight the congregation discussed the front page of the October KM -The New Meeting Schedule.

Straight away it was emphasized it was NOT because of high gas prices that the meetings were being reduced. It was pointed out that in parts of the world the brothers do not have cars so it was not high gas prices. All the emphasis was on more time for personal study and meeting preparation to build up spirituality to prepare us for the Great Trib.

Again and again high gas prices were mentioned as NOT being the reason.

So I speculate the GB has communicated with the congregations to point this out as there must have been some comments. Discussion boards like this must also have had an effect.

Just thought you would all like to know

Where exactly did they say it was the high gas prices?

Or was that just another rumour.

:All the emphasis was on more time for personal study and meeting preparation to build up spirituality to prepare us for the Great Trib.

Don't you see the idiocy in this statement, exjwe? The whole justification for a group meeting in a home was simply the Biblical injunction that said something like: where there are two or three gathered in my name, there I will be also. That Biblical injunction is now in the toilet and the NEW and BETTER Watchtower injunction is: where you are alone and preparing for Watchtower grilling and indoctrination, this is better than what the Bible actually said. Why? Because We said it is better, that is why.

The "Great Trib." as you put it, will be better dealt with when people don't depend upon other people to help prepare for it according to the new "ruling.". They are all on their own here. Of course, that is not necessarily a bad thing. The "Great Trib." has been predicted for a Century or more and has never happened. So whether one studies in a group or in private, it shouldn't make any difference at all, since the "Great Trib." won't happen in this or any other lifetime. Why? Because the REST OF THE WORLD DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT PATHETIC LITTLE RELIGION KNOWN AS JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES! THEY DON'T MAKE A SHIT OF DIFFERENCE TO ANYONE WITH HALF-A-BRAIN!

Sorry. I got a little carried away there.

many on this board predicted that "The High Gas Prices" remark would return to bite them in the ass and it appears they/we were right

LOL / That is just plain funny. It is all about high priced gas, and people having issues with losing good jobs to take to much time off for meetings.

Whatever the reason, The Watchtower does not want small groups of Witnesses meeting in private homes to study Watchtower publications.

What could this real reason be?
