How about what a person has to go thru to get "Reinstated"... I was never able to find that in the Bible.

Borrowing from another thread - flag salute, can't vote, military service, cannot serve as police officer, cannot serve in coast guard, can't hold public office, can't do jury duty...cannot hunt or fish "unless you eat the game"...

Baptisms at 5,7,8,12...any age younger than full adulthood.

    Inserting "Jehovah" into the NT.

Public reproof, private reproof, restrictions, 3-elder committees...

Not appointing men as elders or MS if "their hours are low"....nowhere in the Bible does it state that an elder must evangelize even 1 minute, let alone "make the national average"

My favourite is the 2 year "forgiveness" rule.

If you committed a sin (up until a few years ago this also included adultery or fornication), but no one found out about it, but your exemplary behaviour over the past 2 years has demonstrated that Jehovah's continues to bless you, then you are "forgiven" and neither reproved or removed from congregational responsibilities.

No Carla - catch & release would be "doing it for fun". Then you would be like Nimrod - the mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah.

Seriously. You have to kill it and grill it, like Ted Nugent.

But, the hunting & fishing were frowned on even in that light, because you probably were able to afford to buy food and were probably doing it as a hobby.

    Seriously.

FS and the way that you have to be baptized or working under a baptized person to do fs. Totally unscriptual. Also the requirement of fs to be a member in good standing.

The steps leading to baptism. There are only two: admit you are a sinner in need of a savior and accept Jesus as that savior. That's it! That is all that is required scriptually.

Banning any holy days: Colosians 2:16. Didn't someone say that on another thread? Romans 14:5 Don't judge anyone for holding one day special or sacred above all others.

When Paul says to "remove the wicked man from among yourselves [the congregation]" he does not state that he should be removed from your family, if he happens to be a relative. In harmony with Paul's other words regarding understanding and discernment, it would be up to each Christian to determine how to handle the family situation based on any number of variables. That is precisely why Paul did not state a rule with respect to family members. However, the Society certainly does.
