Okay, this is more like it!

Really hard though to get a good picture. I have to take 8-second exposures because of the haze and my monopod is useless for that, so I had to position the camera carefully on the garbage bin and press down really hard to restrict the movement.

It's clouded over again right now.

Bourne...That is a stunning photo, is that yours, and was it from the August eclipse?

well it was a frosty +1 outside,
but i got my 2 kids and a chum
who was hanging out to accompany
me outside to get a good look at
the night sky as the eclipse became total......

    such a spectacular sight

saturn and regulus were highly visible
and the rest of the sky was crisp and
    stunningly dramatic!!

my 14 YO and i drove to the lake
to spend a shivering quarter hour
    in a bonding experience

( i told her that years from now
when she is telling future generations
of my descendants about the experience
she will say: she DRAGGED me out
in arctic cold to look at the MOON!)

    a truly delightful evening!

In my neighborhood, the parents got their kids out too to see the eclipse, but mostly went back inside when there wasn't anything to see. I focused so much on the eclipse that I forgot to look for the Hubble Space Telescope going overhead...prolly not a good night to see it anyway.

    Leolaia,

Sadly,no. That was not MY picture, as much as I would like to say it was. I admit that I scalped it from Google Images just to show a fair estimate of what I was seeing. Surprisingly, it was a pretty good view during breaks in the clouds.

we weren't able to see it here because of the thick clouds overhead and then it snowed.
