What a move, Trev !!
Can you do anything with the masses???
I have 9 local congregations in my immediate area just looking for someone with your abilities.
The little one will become a thousand? You have found your calling.
Congratulations!
JK
4 out... zero in! Those are great stats! wish I could say the same...
She is the 4th person I have had the great pleasure of helping to leave the
org, and as I never actually brought anyone in while a jw, it's a resounding
victory for me over them, and I hope to get the opportunity to increase the
margin of victory in the future.
This made me think.
Over the last 5-6 years I've probably put more people off becoming a JW than I ever did, in the previous 25yrs, trying to make people into JW's. I hope also that I have helped those JW's who have contacted take that step towards leaving.
Doesn't it make you feel good?

Thanks Jeff, it's nice to feel needed!
Of course, people in cults need to be feeling at least some doubt about what they
are doing before there is any possibility of getting them out. Linda was in that
position when she first spoke to me, and all I did was to encourage her to
research the org, though I did suggest which sites she should look on and
which books she should read.
Julie used to work with Linda, and started shunning her when she first left in 2005,
only starting talking to her again late last year. She has admitted to us that, contrary
to everything she had been taught as a jw, and she's just turned 37 now, having
been raised as a jw from birth, Linda was much happier once she'd left, and she
was curious as to why.
She was also having doubts about a few things and, like many in that kh, had
been disturbed by a child abuse case involving an elder, now in prison, the
year before. Well, Linda pointed her in the right direction, and once she'd
started researching she began to see through the watchtower bs, and started
missing a few meetings. It was about this time she met my friend, and they
hit it off straight away. He has no experience of dating anyone who has been
in a cult of course, but he's been very patient and empathetic towards her
situation. He's a great guy, actually, and he's helped her as much if not more
than we have.
I think when they come around and we crack a bottle or two to celebrate
Julie's freedom, we'll drink a toast to this site, freeminds, silentlambs,
Quotes and all the other sites on the internet that provide the ammunition
neede to help get people out of the watchtower cult, as well as to people
like Ray Franz for writing Crisis of Conscience, which was the firsr book
that Julie read once she'd started her research.
Great work! Your record of 4-0 is excellent and now you can work on Julie's family. Turn them on to this Board, should help things along. The few bible studies I brought to their pool were df'ed long ago, so I went out of the game with a 3-3 record; three in their pool, and 3 df'ed. No blood guilt this way, it all evened out.
Well done, Trev!
Tell Julie to come here and she won't feel so lonely. Also, another apostameal should be on the cards soon!
Ian
Thanks Ian
I don't think that loneliness is a problem for her, my best
mate is very attentive. They are like two peas in a pod, so
to speak. I will invite them both to the next apostafest of
course, though tahanks to being close to Linda and me she
knows that there are plenty of ex jws around these days.
I'll let her read this thread when I see her - I know she'll
get a real kick out of reading it.
Great job. If those 4 ever help others out, you can start a new column
of "assists." Just don't get a big head and start your own religion.
That is what all apostates want to do, isn't it?
