When I told two elders I thought they were promoting mind control, that seemed to tick them off.

I can think of a few that were not hit. Christmas music irritates them horribly, since it will get stuck in their heads all year long. Putting a Christmas CD in place of the Kingdumb Malady disc with a fake label, so when they go to play it, all this Christmas music comes on.

Decorations like a Christmas tree or Easter, Halloween, or patriotic decorations. Giving children birthday or Christmas presents. Saying Happy Birthday. When a clerk at the store says "Happy holiday" or "Merry Christmas" in season. Having Christmas exposed as valid in Luke 2:10-14 where the angels celebrated it.

Apostate literature. The Internet. When they hound you, you pull out a copy of Crisis of Conscience and read from that. Threats of making public the harsh and crappy treatment they meted out to you during your stay at the Hell (and preparing to make good on those threats). Reminders that "He who judges without mercy will have his judgment without mercy" right from their talks, in the middle of a kangaroo court judicial hearing.

The song Amazing Grace" is the epitome of being a Christian and walking with Christ, its the mind set that every Christian should have. My sister said she can not sing it cause its pagan, I told her to search out its history and read the words carefully, her mind just turned off. Now you tell me the Witness's are not cult to have such an affect on people!

Seeing an ex-JW with a happy family, nice home and a good job- maybe even going to a church- and no lightning bolts from heaven killing them.

Seeing two brand new gigantic churches going up within a few miles of each other and both place being filled to the brim Sunday's and pretty full parking lots on various nights. Seeing the new church yards filled with kids having fun, including teens.

In my town we have churches popping up all over the place. They start by using a local school for sunday service, when they get big enough they built a church. I've seen at least 4 churches do that. Within a 5 mile radius of where I live there are currently 4 more churches that have purchased land to built, including my church. And yeah the churches are packed out every Sunday.

I wonder what the jws here think about that

I think that having an upbeat upbuilding conversation with them irritates them, because they think that just because you're not attending hte meeting you're suppose to be all depressed and down in the dumps. It's funny to hear their response when asked "How are you?" And you say with a genuine happy smile that you're great. lol

I will tell yeh what really gets them in the goad is when one of us floaters goes to a casino and wins it so big they put his name in the paper, and the elders can't do squat cause he has been away from the meetings for so dam long and everyone knows he is having a well deserved good time pinching the cocktail waitress's and drinking Jack Cokes.
