Frankie, you're telling me that you've never seen a person have a bad trip, or do anything to harm themselves, or others while on LSD? No one? That's amazing! And you never seen a person that was "not the same" after doing hallucinogenics? You're just posting some "factoid". The truth is stranger than fiction!

You misunderstand me, frankiespeakin. My whole point is that recreational users are NOT USING IT AS MEDICINE...nor are they making truly careful, informed choices about their own individual body chemistry and dosages and medicinal drug usages. I brought up the point about the 'legal speed' to say, Hey...drugs DO serve their purpose--beneficial purpose--when used in measured doses for specific reasons and under a properly trained eye. Now--whether that 'properly trained eye' exists only in the professional medical field (or even IN the professional medical field!!) is a different subject entirely. I did a HECK of a lot of research to get to the point of getting the right legal treatment...I understand there are legitimate uses of pot for chronic pain, nausea, etc.--again, under SUPERVISION of a trained professional !!! I know people who would like to get their hands on the Vicodin or Percodan that I have for their own kicks...but for me, it doesn't even do that--just makes me tired--because it's a LEGITIMATE NEED (pain-killing) that my body has. At this point, I care less about LEGAL and more about RESPONSIBLE USAGE............................. Effects can be PERMANENT, dude--even under the BEST of supervision.............. Nancy Regan doesn't have the corner market on that truth.Jx,
You have been indoctrinated by the government about many of these very good medicines that they label as illegal. Nacy Regan's "just say no" shows nothing inteligent, no reasoning, just say no.

What if he gets injured or dies after trying the LSD? How would you feel? I understand that you had a "pleasant experience"; but can you assure him that he will?

Man, GBL, I am jealous! Have not seen either of those wonderful substances in quite some time. Go take a psychedelic walk in nature and have the time of your life.

Hmm, this thread explains a lot. . .

Who are you?
Have you ever tried any and if so, what did you take away from the experience?
My experimenting days with Halucinegens were from age 13-14. I took away from it that there is more to life than taking drugs that completely distort your senses. Just because a drug distorts your senses to such a degree that the ordinary appears quite extraordinary, doesn't mean that any greater meaning to life has been achieved.
I think that actually living life and traveling to different parts of the world is infinately more interesting and satisfying than locking myself in a room and contemplating my navel. I would recommend a month long trek in Nepal to dropping some acid that who knows who made. One is real, one is just a distortion of reality.

Wow, I guess I should have known the thread would end up going this route. I wasn't asking for permission but I do understand that most of you are just trying to be nice. I appreciate the opinions from people that have actually tried the drugs, both positive and negative. Anyways, to all the naysayers of anything psychedelic I will assure you that I have done plenty of research on these particular compounds and have a good idea of the benefits and potential risks of trying LSD and magic shrooms. It's sort of depressing that in this day and age some people still lump all these drugs together with shit like crystal meth, heroin and cocaine. And its not like I've decided to lock myself off from the rest of the world and spend all the money I would use on travelling to feed some sort of psychedelic-crazed urge in my brain.
To each their own, best to you all.

I have never had psychedelic drugs. Some would say I hallucinate enough without them
Mostly I've been scared of "bad trips".
I have had other illegal drugs though. It isn't part of my life now. I don't condemn anyone if they're making informed choices, its just a danger if you don't know what you're doing or become addicted.
