Great ideas so far. Thanks. Please keep them coming.

    Doubting Bro:

I was so close to bring this same issue up last night. Unfortunately, I get stuck reading (guess my fade isn't going as well as I hoped) and I almost choked on that sentence.

Hey DB, I failed to mention in my little short-story that I was the reader too! So, all eyes were glued to me, and it really felt like the hot seat there for a few seconds. But, since I didn't accidentally "out" myself, it was actually kind of fun. Dangerous, yes, but fun.

Suggestion: Read as slowly and monotonously as you can get away with. It'll leave less time for the conductor, er, "Overseer", to blather on and it'll help put as many as possible out of their misery, temporarily at least, if they can nod off for a while.

BTW, Doubting Bro, weren't you about to vomit when we went over the part on "bowing down" to the F&D Slave? Give me a break!!

    Lunamoth:

I'm a noobie, I would like to read that QFR could someone put a link up for it, please and thank you!

Sorry, I went back through 20 pages of "Active Topics" and quit. I think the biggest thread was started in late February and called something like "Annointed Sealed in 1935? Not anymore" Does anyone else have it?

    JWdaughter:

Good points on the RC Church. I'll give it serious consideration for my next "strategery" planning session.

HAHAHA. That's exactly how I've been reading. I used to be this real enthusiastic reader who was really into it. Now, I sound like a hostage reading a statement from his captor to the media (actually, I feel that way in more ways than one). I was hoping that they would use someone else, but everytime I'm there, I end up reading.

And, about that crap last week of bowing down to the FDS, I think I did throw up a little in my mouth.

Anymore, all I can think about is what a mind controling cult this is. I think the Rev book does the best job of highlighting that. In my opinion, it was a huge mistake for the WTS to have that book studied again. They should have released a new book and just rewrote the current one. I'm glad they didn't because this one is much more straight forward in its worship of the organization than most of the current books which tend to infer the worship but don't come right out and say it.

Always use a third party to talk religion or Witnessism to a believing Witness. If the third party is a good shill, the shill will ask the questions you would want the Witness to ask. Then you answer the questions. This is actually best done with a few additional friendly people in the room if they have the sense to stay silent.

    That's the spirit!!

Too bad I couldn't bring wifey to the Dallas Apostacrawfest!

I don't think all you guys could keep a straight face though.

"Well, I just think it's good that the organization is humble enough to make changes when it's necessary. They're not rigid like the Catholic Church."

    Mrs. Open Mind

Actually that is not true, The Catholic church just changed a long standing doctrine. Can you remember when Catholics had to eat fish on Friday...if you ate meat it was a major sin?...Not anymore.

I plan to use this topic when I get to approach my son who is an elder about the WT teaching falsehoods.

He is always using the terminology "faithful and discreet slave" and I am going to broach the subject with this question from readers and tell him that it is EXTEMEMLY APPARANT THAT THE WT DOES NOT BELIEVE ITS OWN TEACHING.

Why, because they themselves deny that the "faithful and discreet slave" is special. No special knowledge, responsibilities, etc. Therefore THEY THEMSELVES REJECT THE BIBLE WHEN IT SAYS THAT GOD IS GOING TO APPOINT THAT SLAVE OVER HIS BELONGINGS AND DOMESTICS.

I am then going to tell him that this is a doctrine in transition. All the thousands of references to the "faithful and discreet slave" and who they are is going to soon placed into oblivion and the new doctrine will be that the GOVERNING BODY is now the correct viewpoint of who is the faithful slave.

Therefore, they kill two birds with one stone. They totally discredit all who partake as nothings, and then they set themselves HIGHER THAN EVER.

    Hope this helps.

Ummm, I'm still reeling from the idea that some of you can stomach attending these book studies with the insight you have?

I appreciate that everyone's in different circumstances and may have to or want to keep attending; I just remember when I decided I was "done" (1992) and meetings/book-studies were like nails on a chalkboard.

    I admire you...

As for the 1935 thingie, I think the average Borg Drone doesn't give a flyin' fig about dates: It's more about the Big Kahuna doctrines. So, this won't be the straw that breaks the camel's back at all. So there ain't much milk in that teet.

I think you should start a study with Sister OpenMind using the Kama Sutra.

Lots more enlightening than the 1935 stuff!

I just borrowed your technique during my bookstudy.
My conductor himself made the comments about 1935 filling the Anointed.
I raised my hand and he called on me (cause I always have insightful comments) ;-)
**BAM** he got a rejection on his last comment.
Quickly he looked to his assistant for some backup (the assistant shrugged his shoulders)
He said "I guess I will have to go look after the meeting". (what the hell?!! has he not read the mags yet?? Um, buddy we are placing these next week.)

So thank you very much for your insight, I couldn't have had such an enjoyable evening without you.

Dear, you said "I just think it's good that the organization is humble enough to make changes when it's necessary."
I thought about that. Changes like this are done because they can no longer hold to the old light.
Look here (magazines showing the numbers), the number of partakers isn't going down from year-to-year."
