Why do the GB members live so long?

Don't know if it's my imagination but a lot of these GB old boys seem to have a knack for living a really long time.

I think Freddy Franz was 99 when he died? Barber has just croaked at 102 (or 101?). Albert Schroeder was 94 when he cashed in his chips last year. How old was Henschel? John Barr is 94 and is still giving gilead graduate talks!!!

Geez it sounds like a list of old nazi's.

The only exception I can think of was Lloyd Barry. I think he was only in his early 70's when he snuffed it.

What is the average age at death of all deceased GB members? Anyone know? I'd be surprised if it wasn't quite a bit higher than the US national average for males.

When I was a kid growing up in der troof I used to believe it was Holy Spirit that gave them their longevity. Obviously not having to do normal work and having all your physical needs catered for for most of your life is the real reason.

Found some info (not sure how accurate).

Assuming the DOBs and DODs are correct, other ancient GB members were Lyman Swingle (91), Karl Klein (96), James Booth (94), George Gangas (98). They must put something in the tea at Brooklyn.

That, and regular bathing in the blood of virgins.

I think a few reasons why they live so long are:

They don't have to work very hard, but do keep active in carrying out there duties, and this may have some health benifit, not to mention the food at bethel is not something you want to over eat, it don't taste that good.

I think the elderly live a lot longer if they stay active and feel they are important in what they do. So at bethel they are accorded lots of respect by the pee ons, because they are the GB. They don't spend much time in harsher eliments of weather, and are protected alot by medical treatment superior to what the average bethelite might recieve, they don't have worry about money, or food and shelter, and can give talks that make them feel important which strokes thier ego, surely all these things keep the old bastards a live a lot longer than benificial. Maybe being a GB is considered such a wounderful thing by some of these old geezers that they just don't want to die and find out if made to heaven or not.

BTW I'm avoiding your Life on Mars thread as I missed the last episode and am waiting for the repeat. I love that programme. I see a CD of the soundtrack is out too.
