Is hard liquor like spirits or all forms of alcohol? Its going to be tricky buying booze on Saturday as I am kinda tied up! I guess I can get some Friday though...

You might have to do a few trips to the liquor store Crumpet. I don't want you to run out.

You can usually get beer just not the hard stuff like vodka. Beer is what really goes best with crawfish anyway so it's all good.

Just a reminder to the people coming from out of state, it's probably going to be pretty warm as we are already getting into the 80's here so pack accordingly. We can post a forecast when it's closer to the date but just keep that in mind if you are buying for the trip.

Can I check there aren't any ancient rules in Texas about pruchasing alcohol on a Sunday

It's even stranger than that. You can't buy liquor/beer/wine just anywhere. There are designated "wet" and "dry" areas. To make it more difficult, there is no rhyme or reason as to why or where one area of town is "wet" and the other is "dry". You just have to know where to go.

But yes it's true. No hard liquor on Sunday. For that matter you can't buy beer or wine before noon on Sunday. Apparently Sunday morning is sacred.

This is what happens when you get laws made by a bunch of Baptists who think Jesus turned water into grape juice.

If I recall correctly you can buy liquor in the UK from 8am-11pm every day of the week. Seems fairly civilsed to me
