I was passive aggressive when I could be: there was a CO that had a thing about the pioneer chicks being all dressed up (full face gear, hose & heels) when he would come into town, I would dress like a pentecostal - no make up hair in a braid, plain dress and no heels, flats, always flats. What could the guy say, other than in the pioneer meetings "all old barn needs a new coat of paint from time to time" Can anyone say dumb@$$!

But, as I was slowly leaving and going for additional schooling (tool of the devil ya know), I would hang out w/ worldly kids and smoke after lots of drinking. I was known to go to a x-mas party if invited. My family and I already sang x-mas songs and watch all the holiday movies, so I never considered that rebelling. Also, we went to R rated movies as a family, again, I never considered that rebelling.

My biggest deal was smoking, wore short skirts at school because I had good legs and wore a lot of high heels. (Had to roll my skirts).....

Skipped school, tried pot but didn't like it, slept with a boyfriend, had too short of cutoffs and wore them to clean the kingdom hall,......got in big trouble for that.....too much cheek showing as I vacuumed ...I guess thats about it.

I love hearing this stuff. It makes me think of when I was in, and now I mentally looked around the hall, wondering what everyone was doing that we didn't know about. I like knowing some were living as they pleased, whether for the purpose of rebelling or not.

Nightclubbing was my first thing, but I was still such a naif and actually did just go dancing. Anytime a guy tried dancing with me I'd be blind to them and dance somewhere else. I started going to work xmas gigs and started a science degree. Then I met this guy....

I used to eat 3 muskateer and milkyway bars and Mars bars. These were chocolate type candy bars. In the 60's we werent allowed to eat them because they had lethicin in them which the society said may be derrived from blood.I'm pretty sure in the 60's the society was sure they were derived from blood. I would sneak up to the delli when I was 6 or 7 years old and buy them whenever I had change. The candy that was acceptable with no strings attached was rock candy, pure sugar. Good for the dentist, bad for my teeth. My father was not a jw so I would go to him for permission to play sports in school. My parents used to fight about the religion a lot. Every couple of years when I was young my father would have a huge bonfire of watchtower publications. I left in 83, my mother brother and sister by 93. I still can't wish my mother happy birthday or Merry Christmass or buy her a present. We all celebrate the holidays just not together. I live in Florida and she lives in Cleveland. The Seinfield effect reveresed.
