Arrange your wedding to make you and your hubby happy. You can not count on your parents being there . I know of a recent case where a dub married a "worldly guy" and some of the dubs returned their invitations to say they were coming. In swoops the elders and they make sure it is known that any who attend will pay consequences. This is with the fiance studying and the bride to be still attending meetings and in good standing in the congregation.
To make a long story short, none of the dubs showed up, wasting the money spent on their dinner and most importantly, leaving the bride embarrassed and heartbroken. Their cruelty knows no limits.
Your mother may even decide to come and then be threatened by the elders at the last minute. As long as she is under their control, you cannot count on her.
