Wars are fought because that's what we do. Technology changes, circumstances may change but the forces that drive us to be human those never change. People fight and inflict suffering becuase that's what they WANT to do.
No nation or organization is worth dying for. Why should I surrender my life for those who are ignorant and stupid and whose actions/policies/belief's are driving the human race to disaster and possible extinction?

It's not just "not going to war" that's the issue. It's not fomenting war. It's not war-profiteering (profiting off war or working for a war-based-industry.)
Jesus practiced not only law-abiding-ness, but also harmlessness. He said, "Those who take up the sword will die by the sword." Matt 26:52
What that means--perishing--is that you LOSE all your consciousness of everything : your memories, your identity, your ideals.

Unless a person (one who is aware of Yahweh/Jehovah) is strong enough to RESIST, they are overwhelmed by information (the signal-to-noise ratio is very low) and they can't discern Truth from Folly.
We must remain close to the Holy Spirit, to know what is true and what is not true.
However, Jesus, despite the fact that He found the Law to be imperfect, NEVER DID HARM to anybody. He is our model.
