I have noticed that the WT is not using large stadiums much for it's summer conventions anymore- probably too depressing to see half the seats unfilled.

This just reminded me.....that many years ago, an entire stadium or arena used to be filled at assemblies, especially on the weekends. As the years went by, I saw that half of these places were being used, the lights were out and nobody was allowed on that side of the stadium.

This definetly showed that there were less JWs in attendance, even though we had to fight for seats because it would be filled to capacity by Sunday! The comfort and seating arrangements of the rank and file JW was not a consideration of the WTS.

The Jehovah's Witnesses: Proclaimers of God's Kingdom, page 331 states: "Near Stockholm, Sweden, a beautiful, practical Assembly Hall, with 900 padded oak chairs, was built in seven months." Pity there is no picture of it. However, on page 383 is a picture of the branch office--quite a complex indeed!
