Do the Governing Body have a priviliged life style or not?

Let's be fair. The GB and any Bethelites/Branch members who travel do get to do it for free. Simply by giving a talk or 3, they can visit anyplace on the globe. The local JW will pay all their expenses for the privilege and will give them green handshakes. They don't usually have to deduct restaurants/ lodging because the locals (who paid the taxes already) will foot those bills individually.

These practices are legal and normal in religion and in some business. There's nothing wrong with it. The GB get those great apartments because they have been slaving for the organization longer than others by the time they get appointed. These guys DO LEAD A GREAT LIFESTYLE, I'm sure, but it ain't worth everything it took to get there. I suppose the part that's best for them is everyone fawning over them on their visits, that's what many politicians love about their jobs- power and envy.

From the original posted question, Has anyone ever heard of an ordinary Bethelite getting flown to a medical specialist with the bill paid by the organization? I would imagine they see that person as unproductive, and allow the local doctor to dope him up until he dies. Anyone?

They are elitist, and they don't care what you think. If you don't agree with them you get disfellowshipped and can't speak to your family. What a theocratic dictatorship.

What I want to know is how he will personally treat the blood issue and the use of blood fragments.

What? He's not 'waiting on Jehovah' to cure all his ills in the 'New System'?

Exactly, I thought he was of the annointed, why is he trying to postpone the greatest reward, being in heaven with Jesus, perhaps the Dr. should help him find the door...LOL.

More likely though they enjoy the sense of having so many people at their feet controlling their lives as they hung from every word that they say. Power and glory are more appealing than money to some persons, this is an empire with six million subjects.

I think this comment hits the mark. People outside of JWism who have the same level of authority and position in their world relative to what the GB has in JW-world generally live far more lavishly than the GB does. But, for these people, the lifestyle of big houses and beautiful cars and expensive exotic vacations are just fringe benefits. The attainment and maintenance of power and position are what make them go, not Mercedes Benzes and 10,000 sq. foot homes. So the GB gets the power, but not the lifestyle, but it's the power that counts.

I would say by their treatment of long-time Bethel workers they do want to rid themselves of the "unproductive," but rank certainly seems to have its priveledges.

By the way, keep us informed of your gathering storm with the CO and DO. Sounds like "you got some s'plainin to do."

Well I see where my mother's latest $100,000.00 donation is going. To keep this old frog croaking as long as he can. My own father died in his home after being diagnosed with bone cancer. He had 2 options, to get radiation or die within 6 months with Hospice.

He had one radiation treatment, and then the doctor was fired. Hospice took over, my father fought it like crazy. He lived 3 months. (not what he wanted)

My mom and I took care of him round the clock. ......

So Mr. Old croaker gets extra special care from my father's money which my father busted his ass for and didn't get the benefit of. That SOB....he should be dieing in bed like my father. Let his fans take care of him like my mother and I had to of my father.

How dare the society spend my father's money on this old frog.

(((( restrangled ))))) I'm very sorry to hear what happened to your father.

All those donations, that many people just cannot afford, are being used by people who should have got off their power seeking asses and earnt their own livings all these years.
