Evolution still bugs me

Apes and humans have similar parts for similar jobs so therefore we have very clos genetic resemblence.

My job is a house painter. Also, i drive, mess around on my computer, etc, etc. Joke. Ok, i know what you are saying. Without more info to back up this idea, i would have to guess at the specific 'jobs'. Let's say upright walking is one action for which certain gene sets are used. Humans, apes, birds walk upright. Do the genes sets for walking upright (if your claim is correct) in these 3 species match up? I don't know, but i think that the arguement comes from trying to prove a preset conclusion.

and the other side of the coin is : No-one knows for sure how life got started......I don't think you have to believe EITHER....OR....with regards to belief in God, and belief in evolution.

Maybe they are complimentary. Who know FOR SURE?? Nobody.

All God needed to do was to invent DNA and kickstart the creation of 1 cell instance. Then DNA will do the rest. No big deal to me if that happened. I don't need to prove that it didn't.

Hey nutter. I've only been lurking here a short time and registered finally a couple days ago. Why would you act like you know me? I have zero idea who you are or anyting about you except you're funny and clever. So cut me some slack, please. I'm not a Bible believer. I still think the Bible has some good features, and that God probably exists in an impersonal way, but I don't believe in prophecy any more than I believe in unicorns. So, calm down. I'm not your enemy. If I misunderstood the spirit of your last response to me, I apologize. G

Elsewhere, I totally respect your ideas. I really dig astronomy and bought a very cool telescope that I use a lot on good nights. Prop, creedal statements aren't scientific. I'm hoping for some butt-kicking info. G

Hey MJ. man, these responses are very cool for the most part! I'm a modern dude and I lean toward evolution. It might be because I was raised to accept it. If thats all it is then I dont want any part of it. If it is factual, I don't want any part of any God baloney. So, I'm giving this a serious lookover. Yes, a good pal sent me an online program that evolves words from gumbled letters. Here: http://www.jhuger.com/evolve I read a few years ago about a specie of wild dog that had been cut off from the rest of Dogdom for so long that, even though its still a dog, it can't breed with other dogs anymore. The article (National Pornogrpahic I think) said this was probably a first step in evolving into a seperate specie entirely. G

Hey Restrangled. I'm still figuring out how to use this board right. If you want to PM me with the stats, fee free. I wont post them. G

Hey Kazar. I'm sorry dude. That sounds really awful. I'm not torn up by the problem, so you have my empathy. My current status is as a very liberal (religiously and socially) protestant, bvut that could change to agnostic or atheist depending on where the best evidence and arguments are. I'm glad you're able to put this stuff out of your head so it doesn't make you nuts. All the best to you Kazar. G

Hey Jstalin! Okay, that sounds really good, but thats not a smoking gun. Was there a piece of the origins puzzle that made you have a eurkea moment? If so let me know. Thanks. I've read reviews of ID books that point out there aren't any creationist researchers, just creationist "pundits." G

Hey AuldSoul. Why? Are they half hape or something? I'm teasing. I'm just curious as to why. I'l bet if I do a Google search on them I'll get a buttload of material to wade through, so maybe you could narrow the search parameters down. Thanks. G

Hi Satanaus. I don't have any preset conclusions yet. But the answer is a standard one in all the ID stuff I've read. I haven't read any shattering rebuttals. For the sake of argument, if theres a Creator, then it's fairly reasonable that similar parts for similar functions would be found among various living things. Monkeys have cool little hands they use to throw their poop at you. I have hands too. We have similar "hand" DNA. Does that mean we have a common ancestor or that because we have common structures we have similar DNA sequences? I dunno yet. Maybe it's still a matter of opinion or belief. I ordered two pro evolution books so that might help a lot. I hope. G
