I must say you got the spirit of this thread. I whole heartedly agree with your post. If you look at my original post I said I posted just a few of MANY encouraging scriptures from the bible. You have just added more encouraging scriptures from the bible. Thank you!

I firmly believe even if we were endowed with Gods power we would only make matters worse.

So why not give me your theory on why god doesn't stop the suffering?

Is it to get rid of the 'bad' people?

Can't he read our mind and hearts and the future and KNOW who will be bad?

Is there still not going to be people who die in 'the new system of things'? (Isaiah 65:20)

    Hummmm...So that can't be it!

    So what IS the reason?

I think we need both the softer and the harder side of the bible:

    Psalms:

137:7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
