Mom is more conscious now. She's able to shake her head "yes" and "no". She tries to say our names. But, the mass or substernal goiter is still there. It's "huge" to quote the endocrinologist. They are planning to do surgery on Monday to remove the mass. The doctor will have to "crack open her sternum". This mass is what put pressure on her trachea and caused her to go into respiratory failure. I'm stressed out!

    Thank you Sarah for asking.

The family has decided to make my mother comfort care only. She hasn't been doing well. She said that she was tired, and she kept crying out for Jesus. I'll be going back and forth to the hospital over the weekend. On Monday, we hope to get her into a hospice facility.

Hugs to you, sweety! It's so hard to go through a final illness with someone you love. I hope you and your mom have a decent weekend and that you are all at peace.
