I really wasn't into music until I got a walkman and was listening one night and heard Master of Puppets by Metallica. It 'tickeled my ears'. And I have been a staunch Metallica fan ever since, even if their last 3 albums kinda stink.

Extreme III side B helped me awaken to a spiritual side to myself.

Nowadays I listen to slipknot, avenge seven fold, system of the down, old blues, and bluegrass (esp. the blue grass tribute to Metallica by Iron Horse), I really like celtic music, bagpipes, and Griegs Hall of the Mountain King, and a few other classical greats. And I listening more to new age music.

But even though I like listening to live music, I just can't get into church music period. Just like rap, and country.

    Just like you, Myself--

"Just Feel Better" is something I've been playing over and over again lately. Excellent song!

Good topic, jojochan! Music is a huge part of my life... i listen to pretty much every genre. I bought Darkest Hour's latest CD the other day, & it's been a huge help in dealing with the rush of feelings you have when you find out you're surrounded by lies. It's pretty heavy thrashy metal, might not be to everyone's taste here, but for the most part the lyrics are outstanding. I got choked up listening to this song when i read the lyrics along with it. Daydreamed about leaving the org. & starting over with my wife. The words really fit my feelings. *sigh* Hope you like.

"With a Thousand Words to Say But One"
(hopefully i'll get the formatting right)
And to reflect is to regret
    Throwing it all away
And apathy my one way street
It took so much from me
Separated by this divide I created through my fears
And in your tears it's hard to show
Blind eyes and tell deaf ears

If we can make it through the landslide standing
We’ll lift each other up to see the bliss on the horizon
Been looking in from the outside lately
I’ve seen who I used to be and it’s not me

    And we can keep healing
And we can keep holding on

I just want to take you where our time won’t waste anymore
Through the mountains on the water we’ll stay engulfed in one another
And when I can wake up to see the sunrise in your eyes
then we’ll finally be free and I’ll know I’ve made it home

So let's go out west and bask in the overcast
And walking through the rain we’ll see the beauty in life again

    life again

And to reflect is to regret
    Throwing it all away
And apathy my one way street
It took so much from me
Separated by this divide I created through my fears
And in your tears it's hard to show
Blind eyes and tell deaf ears

    We can keep healing

    All alone

    We can keep holding on

These two helped me immensely through some tough times not too long ago.

Foo Fighters - Times Like These

I am a one way motorway
I'm the one that drives away
    then follows you back home
I am a street light shining
I'm a wild light blinding bright
    burning off alone

it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again

I am a new day rising
    I'm a brand new sky
to hang the stars upon tonight
    I am a little divided
do I stay or run away
    and leave it all behind?

it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again

Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place

    Everything, everything, everything, everything..
    In its right place
    In its right place
    In its right place
    Right place

Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon
Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon
Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon
Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon

    Everything, everything, everything..
    In its right place
    In its right place
    Right place

There are two colours in my head
There are two colours in my head
What was that you tried to say?
What was that you tried to say?
Tried to say.. tried to say..
To say.. to say.. to say...

    Everything, everything, everything..
    Everything in its right place

A song off of Dire Straits Brothers In Arms album called "Why Worry" helps me when I feel low.

Almost anything off Rumours, by Fleetwood Mac, cheers me up.

most of mine are angry gangsta rap songs but usually helps when ya wanna kill someone!

LOL! Yeah...Hand on the pump by cypress hill gets me amped too!

Yeah, I totally for got about master of puppets. I like the track Orion.

But If I'm moody...Bjork, Or Sade. I can remember when After my divorce all I listened too was that. I even would watch that Lover's tour dvd. That was awsome, and at the end of that dvd I would feel so, so relaxed while drinking my kaluha and milk over the rocks.

It's funny how you could go through a certain fase listening to one thing until your ears can say, "Ok, that's enough, move on."

And you do...After my divorce was final I was then listening to Tears for Fears,"Songs from the big chair" and some Dj Quick, Daft Punk.

There is a song by a band called Bender (I think they have broken up, never made it big) called "Isolate". That song used to make me cry and helped me work through alot of feelings.

Anything by the Stones, but especially Mother's Little Helper, 19th Nervous Breakdown and Saint of Me. Keith Richards is my hero, so I'll add his Talk is Cheap and Main Offender cds.

    Pearl Jam--Jeremy and Better Man

Creed's My Own Prison and Human Clay cds

Alter Bridge (Mark Tremonti is HOT)

    Kris Kristofferson--Why Me Lord

Everything Johnny Cash ever did. His autobiography was inspiring also.

    Public Enemy--Can't Trust It

    Prince's music from the 80's.

This could go on all day. There is always music on here, even if it's only in my head.

If I am upset or in a bad mood, it is Marilyn Manson's Lunchbox and a punching bag, or the Matrix soundtrack.

In a good mood, anything from the 80's new wave era i.e. Berlin, Human League, Clash, etc.
