Eat a Placenta?

    LOL @ Nevarin......

Many mammals naturally eat the placenta soon after birth and it is also practiced in some traditional cultures.

Anyone that has a dog can tell you that just 'because a mammal does it' does not a good rule make. I can think of several gross things dogs and other mammals do, that I have no interest in repeating.

Just because the Chinese say it's so, doesn't wash for me either. While their culture has some very good herbal medicines, these are the same people who will kill a Rhino for a little of the 'horn' which is supposed to make for better sex...but of course has not been proven either.

Oh A Kate, what were you doing down there girl?
Start a thread about your trip sometime. Someone should start a travel thread. Did you say you were down there for study? How did you survive? I want to know.

i have heard of "placenta parties", where the mother celebrates the birth by serving it as a pate.
