Why did the WTS (Rutherford) take on the name "Jehovah's Witnesses"? To separate themselves from the Bible Students that had left, 75% of 90,434 who attending the memorial in 1925
Can someone elaborate on this a little more if they have any info on this.

Most congregations adopted this resolution, and the few that did not soon lost their spiritual vision and the privileges they had in connection with Kingdom service.
I'm learning more in this thread then I have at any meeting!!!

What struck me too was how they avoided mentioning the 1995 change in the generation doctrine.

Are we speaking about what my mother used to always tell me when I was younger:that I may never die at all b/c the new system is so close? I used to hear that all the time. That "this system will by no means pass away until these things take place" Than years later i stopped hearing it. I have so much to learn still!

Not mentioned in the paragraph but one of the publishers raised it anyway

What I mention to my wife is that is is funny how the watchtower did not mention some other incorrect things -- such as not being able to take organ transplants and then it was okay to take organ transplants and then how things change with the word porneia and who people who had spouses who had relations with animals are now allow to divorce and get married. Or how people were condemned to having oral sex and how that has now changed. Of course as we all know this is probably preparing us for some new light

Can't wait to see that . There has to be something big in the works because they sure are playing the same song of obedience to the org. here lately . Now this one about how light is for your benefit even if it was wrong once and now it's changed but you must accept it in order to be a good dubby and meet ( the WTBTS) jehovahs expectations and continue growing in spirituality .................... jeezus after a hundred years of this crap how can anybody take it serious ?

With only 12 on the GB now, you might understand why men of the "other sheep' have been brought in as 'helpers' or Nethinim.

Now THIS I don't understand. Supposedly The Remnant have already been hand-picked by God (and we all know they are each blessed with Supernatural gifts, unlike us mere mortals) - so WHY are the GB running a lottery by appointing non-Annointed before them?

Many Thanks Blondie. I can't remember ever actually READING a WT article when I was actually supposed to - lol.

I too was at this WT study and all the answers were cookie cutter, from the paragraph answers. I mentioned in another post how during the paragraph about the change of the "superior authorities" understanding I was tempted to comment on how it was really a reversal of a previous change, didn't comment though. One comment a brother made really struck me though, he was commenting on blood transfusions and he said something to the effect of "The watchtowers view on blood shows how Jehovah's "new light" protects his people, only now is the medical community coming to understand the drawback and dangers of blood transfusions, something Jehovah's Witnesses have know for a long time". I about threw up in my lap! Here is a brother, with no medical training or experience, commenting on the medical communities view of blood transfusions!!??? COMPLETE BS! Yet he, and most other JW's believe this crap so they can justify letting their children, spouse and themselves die needlessly because of some man made, bullshit doctrine.

Lost light --- I'm surprised they aren't having everybody show their no blood card before they let you into the study .You are so right that these people have alot of nerve to tell others they need to refuse life saving medical procedures over some made up dogma . I don't have a problem with the finding bloodless procedures but it's the insistance that people should die at the WTBTS altar over some technicality that the WTBTS put in place on it's own . Their whole blood policy is a revolting joke . Blood fractions ok but whole blood not ok , just what the hell are they trying to prove with that? If blood is to be thrown on the ground according to mosaic law then how the hell are fractions to be created for meds? The bloodless procedure can only really be used for heart bipass surgery and the like not on people in the emergency room that need whole blood because of blood loss in an accident . I can't believe this looney organization spends alot of time and money on the concept that people are saved by bloodless operations . Blood is used for alot of good things such as innoculations that prevent plagues and such . I don't know how anybody from this board can go to a meeting like that and not grab the mic and talking til removed about how stupid they are .
