While at it you can include a timely copy of the following:

Many encyclopedias repeat the speculation of "the Venerable Bede," an 8th Century scholar, that Easter may come from the name of the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eastre, although the Latin "Hebdonada Alba” (White Week) was a spring week when people wore white to be baptized as Christians and its name was mistranslated as Eostarum which became Easter.

Also the Anglo-Saxon word "eastre" means easterly or eastern, a reminder Christianity entered Germany and England from the east or Middle East, and the Bible speaks of Christ coming from the east to resurrect people.

When Christianity reached Germany in the 1500s, eggs and rabbits were used as symbols of the resurrection hope of new life, rabbits famed for bearing new life in spring and appearing first here remindful of how Christ appeared various places after resurrected.

Colossians 2:16 says “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day” so although a few don’t celebrate Easter, these reasons are why the vast majority do and, as seen, with full scriptural approval.

Knowing these things also gives Christians the joy of sharing the information with non-Christians so that they can know when about to die that because of Christ they too have the hope being resurrected to be with their loved ones again.

Excellent! I'm gonna print 50 of these off and leave them around the hall thats being rented for the memorial this year!

Its about time people started telling the truth!

Speaking of which, would I be going to far as to ask for details on what took place in Wisconsin? I know I'm just a lowly Canadian, but knowledge is power, and knowledge in the wrong hands is power indeed! I have lots of low friends in high places.

thanks, blondie for the info. I'm not looking to go or anything. It's funny. The witnesses claim to be everywhere, but really they simply blend in with everyone else unless you go looking for them. :-)

I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.

Unfortunately, there are those that will act like your friend and dig what they can out of you. Some will turn it over immediately to the clergy class. Others will wait until it is advantagous for them.(Like if they are trying to get out of trouble then they throw the clergy a bone) Some actually take great GLEE(!) in turning others in. Their lives must be awful so they like the thrill of turning others in. They might think that they will gain one more day of ever lasting life for tunring someone in. Like our LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER could take bribes. Yeah I'll be able to cheat on my wife and mistress and stalk people I'll get away with it too because I'll just turn in TooO for xyz. Like our FATHER is the gestopo. No that spot is proudly taked by the org and company.

Tread lightly when strangers come bearing gifts.

Although you also need to recognise when some one is extending an olive branch. But, it is usually easy to tell the difference between a fishing expedition and actual caring.

(on a side note) thank you to everyone for your upbuilding and encouraging thoughts. I've been a avid reader here but only posted today.

Right in Central Wisconsin is the little town of Marshfield. Right now, we have at least 4 families that are currently on their way out. That is a lot of people for the small congregation. Some of us have DA'd others have been DF'd. Some in the congregation can do whatever they please, (like getting caught in a laundromat and exposing himself. Police were called. It is on record on Wisconsin court access), and not get punished. Others in the cong. can sneeze and get DF'd. It is with this "raw" kind of handling of the flock that had some of us questioning the 'truth'. There are many more reasons that I am not probably aware of. Our "elders" were of the "good ol' boys club" and they got caught! (with their pants down so to speak!)

    Sorry Wanda:

Your de-paganising of Easter is not in agreement with the vast majority of religious and secular opinions.

Google Easter for copious amounts of information.

Welcome to our little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing more posts from you.

Just thought about it (chuckle) that it is because of the MS and Elders actions (hint hint) in bed that there is Hotbed of activity here in Marshfield. Pun intended.
