When we visited England we loved:

    Fish and Chips in York.

    Strongbow Cider on tap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The accent (after 10 days I even started to imitate it like a foppish American.)

Ancient castle ruins around every corner.

    Fuzzy sheep.

    Burger King along the M1.

    English Breakfast.

    Pub meals.

    Things we HATED:

    The price of Petrol.

Black pudding. Come on that's just disgusting.

Driving on the left side of the road.

    Indian food.

    Leaving.

A similar discussion to this one is on another board (Football based) I am following. I thought this answer was quite funny.

β€œTo be British is to drive a German car to an Irish themed pub to drink continental lager, to leave and pick up an Indian curry, Chinese rolls, Turkish kebab or Italian pizza. Then return home and watch American TV programmes on a Japanese set while talking about footballers from across the globe.

And the other thing about being British?

    Suspicious of anything foreign.”

The Spitfire - a quintessentially English icon?

As part of a new project to identify aspects of England which can be called an "icon of our age", BBC Cambridgeshire presenter Sue Dougan takes a look at one of the first nominations for iconic status – the Supermarine Spitfire.
