The thing is; we're in Texas and we'll get him after he comes back from the White House and have to deal with him... Do you mean from a Window at a Bookshop depository?Or a grassy knoll?

No. It will be at a "brushy ranch".

    Spectrum.

as long as you are not Iraqi or a downtrodden Palestinian

Those dying in the war with Iraq are soldier, insurgents or terrorists in large part. Is there a civilian cost, obviously yes. Does THAT make me sad...yes. But there is a cost to war and freedom in both human life and dollars. I would not want to bear the burden of making the decision to take any country to war but I support the troops and trust that the leaders of my country have my best interest and the longterm safety of my family at heart. As far as palestinians....I guess I am ill informed...I thought the israelis were doing the fighting there but I'll look into it for you.

He has probably wished the death of many. The real problem is that he had the means to turn it into reality. Doesn't that make you physically sick?

I do not believe that he "wished the death" of innocent lives. I also don't see the problem with the President of the United States having the power to protect my family and I from terrorists, in fact I sleep better at night knowing that we have a President with the "testicular fortitude" to stand up to those who threaten our freedom and safety. so, to answer your question...No, it does not make me physically ill.

    rwagoner,

"Those dying in the war with Iraq are soldier, insurgents or terrorists in large part."

Asbolute BS. YOu no that's not true. And if you don't it just shows how ignorant the American public are.

"Is there a civilian cost, obviously yes. Does THAT make me sad...yes. But there is a cost to war and freedom in both human life and dollars. "
I think dollars is the operative word here. No oil, no dollar, no war, no innocents killed by Bush and his hench man.

If you are interested in the safety of your family then don't support politicians that create pretexts to go to war then say, "ah we have to kill them because they are going to kill us." Ever since the Americans commited genocide on the Native Americans they have had a seige mentally hence all the guns on your streets. This has now translated to beating up on weaker countries that have what you want but disguising it as self-defense. You epitomise this mentality - "My President is going to save me from the baddies out there." The reality is you are the baddies. Yes it really is that simple. It's amazing how 300 million Americans can't see that.
    Here's an example:

The US goverment had the chance to support a most democratic, very popular forward thinking Afghan hero once the Russians had left but instead supported the Taliban. How thick is that? Way to go. That decision eventually led to war in afghanistan then war in Iraq where tens of thousands of innocents died, for what, so that you can sleep easy because of some stupid decision made by your stupid Knights in Shinning Armour?

Without important American support the Israelies would have negotiated a peace years ago.

actually most can...while I can't understand why anyone voted for him in the first place, in the US elections are run by the electoral college and not the majority. So the majority could vote for a candidate but the electoral college votes went to the minority candidate and that's who's elected. This isn't to say a lot of people haven't voted for GWB over the last 2 elections...but a lot of people didn't.

As far as the comparisons to Kennedy's death...this is a different age. And Kennedy did stop himself from blowing up Cuba for the love of humanity. There are ill feelings now even longtime politicians talk about not understanding. The ill feelings weren't really caused by all the leftist liberals...when clinton was impeached for something so minor in comparison to what Bush has done. getting a blow job seems really minor in comparison to 2 wars and thousands of lives lost. But you can expect some backlash. Do I agree with the democrats 100 percent? No...they sound too much like republicans in my opinion.

Anyway, would I be saddened by Bush dying? As others have stated I would be pretty upset about the person who would fill his shoes. I don't wish people dead....but people are dropping off left and right due to the Bush Doctrine and I'll take a utilitarian stance on this question.

I didn't vote for Bush, but I never cease being amazed at the vitriolic hatred which many "enlightened liberals" have for the guy on a personal level. Spending much of my time in Berkeley as I do (where hating Bush is an art form) I've sadly been subjected to numerous moronic, non-sensical screeds comparing Bush to Hitler, Stalin, etc. etc. ad nauseum ad infinitum.

Thus it was quite interesting listening to the recent Commonwealth Club appearance of Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector, who is a cause celebre among Democrats, talking about the fact that the policy of regime change in Iraq was instituted by Bush Sr., perpetuated for 8 years by Clinton and brought to fruition by Bush Jr. The inspector claimed that the CIA was fully aware by the mid-90s that there was no evidence that Saddam had not in fact complied with the UN disarmament resolutions, and he cited the Clinton administration's continued support for economic sanctions as having potentially been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis (500,000 was one estimate--if you buy it). So where are all the street protestors comparing Clinton to Hitler?

Actually, I like Clinton. I just wanted to point out the double standard that seems to have arisen among some who have gone apesh*t over Bush but accord Clinton celebrity status.

Personally, I would feel sad if President Bush died, just as I would when any other basically decent person dies.
