I do not like the man...but death is not something I wish upon our leaders...I don't want Dick Cheney to take over...he's in worse than the other one...

I can't stand the man, can't stand this government... but we'll survive another 2 years or so of his dismal performance as president of the United States (hopefully...)

I wouldn't be happy if something happened to him, but I wouldn't be sad either. Thousands of people die every day. He is nothing to me. But I certainly don't want Dick Cheney as our next president ! He's the one holding the strings of puppet George !

    rwagoner,

Thank you for your post. Pretty much summed up how I feel.

The pure vitriol expressed in this thread is disgusting.

The thing is; we're in Texas and we'll get him after he comes back from the White House and have to deal with him...

    Jean,

Thanks for your comment. I was just speaking for myself but am glad to hear that I am not the only one who feels that way.

I would be sad. Personally I see the office as more then the man. In any sense, I am not some liberal idiot who gets off on wanting to see conservatives killed or to die.

NO! Can't say as I would, I wouldn't wish him any harm but maybe to go to Iraq, wear fatigues and fight among the young boys in our Military say for a year or so.

    rwargoner,

" He is a decent loving person regardless of his politics and many of you wish his familiy the pain of losing someone they care about."
Yeah, as long as you are not Iraqi or a downtrodden Palestinian. I've lost count of the massacre of the innocents. Maybe you can remind us of your friend's handy work.

"Sitting here reading these comments makes me ill, physically ill. You are talking about someone's son, husband, father You may not like the man and that is certainly your right but to laugh and joke aboubt his death and even wish it in some cases is disgusting."
He has probably wished the death of many. The real problem is that he had the means to turn it into reality. Doesn't that make you physically sick?

    Bikerchic,

my feelings, exactly.... The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, on PBS, shows pictures of all military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, at the end of the news.... It breaks my heart to see these young men (and women), some only 19 y.o. and to think about the grief their families must go through...

I don't know the man, and what little I've seen of him has been amusing in the public arena. He's shown up politics for the gameshow it is, by some of his faux pas. He does at least seem to have a bit of a twinkle in his eye.

As for politics, aren't all politicians just cogs in the machine? They have limited abilities to push things one way or another and the rest of the machine dampens their efforts. Nonetheless while they can have some effect, even in high office, that doesn't make them dictators. If you genuinely think the USA system is a dictatorship then maybe the system deserves your ire more than the man who's working within it's parameters.

I have some problems with the policies that the US is progressing, but why should I personalise it? Is this thread an insight into why some people resond the way they do to certain threads on this site???
