The Youth book and related "guidance" in the 70s/80s did much harm... I remember one brother mentioning to me that a brother had been told on to an elder because he had an inflatable doll. We had a CO that called this "A brazen disreguard for the conscience of the congregation and godly principles."
Example: A person who is dating an outsider, and is flippant, headstrong and shows a brazen disreguard for the counsel of the elders could be disfellowshipped.
I dont know of any elders who would take that on tho, 'specially not being backed up by the society.

Not long after I was appointed an elder, there was a single Ministerial Servant in our congregation who was described to me by a fellow elder as a "ferocious masturbator." After two months I began to lose track and abanonded the calender method. Now I am guilt free and enjoy every moment I have with myself
