  A Bible-thumping Bronx man gunned down his estranged wife and then killed himself after accusing her of straying from their faith and sleeping with another man, police and neighbors said yesterday. The victim's 21-year-old daughter found the bloodbath at 10:30 a.m. yesterday in her mother's Soundview apartment after the woman failed to show up to work as an Avon sales representative, neighbors said. Sharoll Medina, 39, was sprawled on her bed with a gunshot wound to her head. Her estranged husband, Julio Lopez, 45, lay dead nearby with a revolver beside him, police said. "My mother! My mother!" her daughter screamed as she walked out of the Watson Ave. building. Lopez and Medina, both Jehovah's Witnesses, separated about 18 months ago. But Lopez would often show up unannounced at Medina's fifth-floor apartment, neighbors said. She routinely refused to let him inside, but rather than go away he would sleep in his truck.   poor woman, she must have married at 17 to have a child at 18,. it could have been me, god knows it was threatened often enough.

  So much for the JW mentality. Right from the WT dictators----it's MY way or the highway.....and he couldn't stand the highway she chose...........

  Let's hope THIS gets all the (WTS) publicity that it deserves

  The WTS will just deny this guy was a jw or that is marital problems were WT related.And I bet he won't get a KH funeral.Oh,yeah,he'll probably be branded an apostate too,can't really stand up to defend himself.It's just really sad for this woman and her daughter.It's unbelievable that someone trying to leave the WTS has to live under the threat of death by a happy christian who knows the "truth" and has the "new personality".

  Not to rain on anyone parade.......but these articles do little( at least in my opinion) to weaken other readers faith in the JW religion. Dubs who read this realise their are a small percentage of witnesses who are wacked out and these things will happen. They realise this is NOT the norm in their religion, but rather freaky isolated cases that can happen in any religious setting. In my over 40 years as a dub I never knew of a case like this in any of my nearby congregations. Suicides.....but not homicides as this one.

  I think many men would do that, regardless of race or religion. Many obessive men, like this guy sounds.

  He probably loved being a JW because it was another way to subject his wife. I don't think actually being witnesses had anything to do with the murder/suicide.

  True, but it does show that they are as likely to have such serious problems as anyone else which is contrary to the image they like to portray.
