You ladies make it too complicated---In Alaska, it seems the rules for guys are pretty simple-- a craigslist personal advert--

    Ready 4 marriage- 43- Fairbanks

Okay, I am pretty sure I weeded out a lot of people. If I haven't scared you off yet, there might be a chance we actually could meet one day. I am looking for a man that's either my age or older. I don't drink or do any illegal drugs and I am not gonna start so don't contact me if you do. I'm trying to find someone 'normal' and by that meaning no one that has been convicted or hasn't got caught yet.

I like to conduct personal hygiene and I'd like to meet someone else that does believe in bathing and brushing their own teeth.

I'm attracted to a man who is doing well in life - not because of any particular success, but because he is ambitious and caring enough to make something out of himself. And "doing well" doesn't mean financial. It means emotionally, mentally, in short, someone who knows who they are and where they are going and isn't afraid to work hard to get there. Someone who isn't scared by a financial setback because he is a hard worker with a positive attitude.

When I was younger, I was drawn to men who were passionate and adventurous, wanting to change the world. That still rings true, but I'm more of a realist now.

I am completely 100% attracted to a strong man, because I need one of those, since I tend to be pretty strong myself. You’ve got be strong to put up with my crazy butt.

Strength of mind, character and intelligence is really important to me. It’s all about engaging my mind. If you can get me to think you can win my heart. Next, traits like industriousness, honesty, sensitivity, kindness and compassion are a huge turn on to me. Then comes the physical attributes…I love a great smile, broad shouldered, lean men of any nationality, but please be taller than I am in 6 inch heels! LOL!

When I was looking for a mate my first requirement was that along with those traits he needed to also be a simple guy. He did not have to be rich or famous or anything over the top. Ironically, in my early 20’s I met a guy that was exactly what I was looking for, but he was wealthy and somewhat well known. I instantly ELIMINATED him from my list because of all his “stuff” and ran from him for 25 years. Well guess where I am? Yep…with him and it’s right!

Back in the 90's when I was single I used to ask a woman- what is on your shopping list? They never denied having one.

Reading this topic confirms that a shopping list is always in the back of a woman's mind.

MAMOCHAN & SOPHIE- Wow ! You just described me to a T ! LOL ! Sorry, I'm already taken ! ( Just teasing . ) No, but seriously Mrs. Flipper and I have had a great relationship now for over 7 years ! I feel like I'm a really lucky guy to have found such a cool, loving, reasonable woman like her with a great sense of humor ! I mean-hey - she has to have a sense of humor to put up with my $hit ! But really we are both just pretty easy going folks who have gone through a lot in life which I think helps in relationships as you get older. Occasionally a bit neurotic at times but the sense of humor thing helps in times like those ! LOL ! Peace out, mr. Flipper

We may all have a certain shopping list so-to-speak however when it comes down to a person of the opposite sex showing an attraction for us, we tend to make concessions along the way. Mutual attraction is like a strong magnet that will draw one another together. I stay fit so prefer a female to be fit as well. This is hard to ask for after the age of thirty where gravity takes a toll on our bodies. So it is much harder to find someone that might fill my needs, but what the heck I guess I will wait. I have always told myself that I would rather be single than to be with someone that I cannot appreciate.

    My shopping list lol:

Spiritual, kind hearted, loving, soft-spoken, petite as in 5'-0" - 5'-2", very feminine, does not cuss, drink, or smoke, takes care of herself, just to name a few :) Nothing wrong with social drinking, just not a drunk, or one who abuses drugs of any sort. One of Jehovah's Witnesses would work however she would have to concede in some of her beliefs. They are not to mingle with people of other faiths. I am Christian and not affiliated with any religious group as I belong to GOD and Christ....

    LOL@ Mr. Flipper.

Moshe: Surprisingly, I have a few friends who DON’T have a “shopping list”. They are notorious for being in the most toxic relationships. They don’t have a list for themselves first, so they attract these toxic men into their lives. It's so sad.

Este: This is a great topic. I actually read your post yesterday and took a while before I joined in. I really wanted to think about it.

I agree that we do make concessions. I may have gotten what I was looking for, but I realize I also have a complex man on my hands and I will probably never have a dull day if we end up together for the rest of our lives.

I hope you find that special person just for you!

Thank you SophieG. I always have someone lingering to keep my mind busy and for the sake of learning. I am not worried about finding my match, as she will be provided for me. I will not make that decision GOD will. Right now I am dealing with a female that wants a husband, whereas I do not care to be married at this point. She really is not my type, however I do appreciate her friendship. I did find an interest however she is married, so thats a problem lol. She said she was planning on getting a divorce but that has not transpired....oh well lol.
