hi all.

i just happened upon this forum the other day and I have been reading and reading... also reading CoC

Ive never been in Jw .. I came here because my very close friend, and partner in a few biz ventures is/ has been more involved with jw lately.. So Im just trying to understand.. I was raised in several different christian denomiantions.. but never really knowing much about jw's

Since ive been reading ive had so many ah ha moments.. of things he has said and done over the last couple years.. lately he's said he is part of a local kingdom hall.. been going more again.. he is even giving the "talks" during the weekday meetings there now.. does that mean he is an elder? or if anyone could shed a little light on that? im curious exactly how involved he is... cuz previous i thought it was just slightly.. but now.. im not sure

he has told me alot as far as scriptures etc.his beliefs.. and I was intriqued.. which is when i decided to do more research on my own and then found this forum as well as the CoC book.. I havent said anything to him yet about me doing this external reasearch.. cuz im still just trying to get a grasp on every thing..

It is called "Theocratic Ministry School".

Training him to spread the JW message. Talks are up to 5 minutes for new male students and female students. Usually the first talks given by a male student is simply reading from the Bible, when they progress they are given a particular theme to develop using information from Watchtower literature.

Do you know which talk it was? If he gave a 'student' talk its usually just Bible reading or a 4 minute mini-talk.

sorry.. my browser went wierd and it posted while i was in the middle of typing..lol

it wasnt just reading.. it was a talk on the scriptures.. which i saw was part of the weekday meeting for this week.

he isnt new to it.. that i know.. he's just seemed to be more inolved and less involved in it in waves over the time ive known him..

when we first got close he had told me about not celebrating holidays/birthdays etc.. but at that point he had just said it was just his own idea not to celebrate them..

so my next question is... idk .. im not sure what to do next.. after starting to read CoC its like .. i want to show that to him.. but at the same time i dont want him to push me away thinking im trying to change him or something.... cause im not.. its just ugh.. reading things in here and in that book.. idk what im getting myself into now..I love him very much..so i dont want to lose what we have now.. what would be your opinion on sharing it..
