I was DA'd after these 2 letters. What you think guys and gals?

  Yeah, well, the bleeders hounded me. Here are some snippets from 2 letters they sent me…

  Dear Punk
  I am aware that you have requested that there be no contact from the congregation, but there is an outstanding matter that needs to be resolved, and we would like to have your co-operation in resolving it.
  
  You will realize from your years as a witness that you are presently considered to be a member of the congregation, even though it is now some months since you have attended any meetings. We feel that it is now time for us to clarify the situation, and with that in mind we would like to ask you to meet briefly with myself and (Brother Thinkshesimportant) in order for us to outline what action the congregation proposes to take, and give you an opportunity of expressing your wishes in this connection.
  
  If you do not wish to meet with us, we would appreciate it if you would be good enough to put in writing your position with regard to your membership of the congregation.
  
  Thank you for your attention to this, I hope you are in good health and look forward to your response

  I understand from (Mrs Punk) that you do not intend to reply to my recent letter, but the matter of your membership of the congregation still to be resolved.
  
  We have had reports from several sources that you are now attending a church in Peterborough, and I am sure you will realise that if this is the case it is not compatible with your membership of the congregation.
  
  We would like now to resolve this matter, and this in mind we have arranged a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday September 23rd at the Kingdom Hall at (address). We would like you to attend this meeting so that you can have an opportunity of making your position clear and we can hear firsthand what you wish to do. This meeting will be of a judicial nature in view of the scriptures at 1 John 2:19, 2 John 9, etc.
  
  If you would like to attend this meeting but the date is not convenient for you, you may contact the writer of this letter (I’m Sogreat) on 01xxx xxxxx or 07xxx xxxxxx or email xxxxxx@gmail.....
  
  If you do not wish to attend, perhaps you would do us the courtesy of writing to make your position clear and what you wish to do with regard to your membership of the congregation. I would add that if you decide not to attend we reserve the right to make a desicion in your absence.
  
  Over the years there have been a number who stopped associating with the congregation for one reason or another, and some of these have resumed their meeting attendance and service after a time, having missed the fine association with spiritually-minded individuals. There certainly is a fine spirit in the congregation, and we believe this to be an evidence of Jehovah's blessing. It is our hope that you will one day join with us in this fine, loving and peaceful association.
  
  We hope you are in good health and we look forward to your response.

  PUNK OF NICE - I would not meet with them for all the tea in China or Great Britain. They are a$$holes. And that's putting it mildly. They had to get their authoritative and controlling digs in with the comment, " I would add that if you decide not to attend we reserve the right to make a decision in your absence. " Jerks. Elders in my former congregation tried DFing me in absentia on false charges which were unsubstantiated . I appealed and threatened a lawsuit and won my appeal.

  If you have any JW relatives you still want to have contact with , I'd appeal the elders decision. But if you don't care, then don't worry about it . Sounds to me like these elders have their radar set on kicking you out . Is your wife still a JW ? How will she respond ? I wish you the bes guy, hang in there

  The b45tard5 had the nerve to come to my house and announce I'd been DA'd. The lead elder was all full of himself.

  Lead over-sneer: 'I'm very disappointed you didn't respond to my letters!'

  Me: 'I'm very disappointed you sent them in the first place as you know darned well I requested privacy!'

  I looked at him and said: 'Yeah. I know you have to follow your business model and obey the rules of your corporation. Personally I don't care. I do not recognize your authority or the authority your business the watchtower thinks it has over me!'

  His eyes went wide and there was a pause.

  Lead: 'Punk! You know it's not a business.....'

  Me: 'You are uninvited on my property. I can have whatever opinion I like on my own property and I don't have to listen to yours. The fact that you're on my private property uninvited does not give you the right to foist your opinion onto me!'

  More drop jawed looks.

  Yes. Mrs Punk is still a JW and even more zealous since my departure. She used to miss meetings and not bother with stuff. Now it's all gone the other way. It has caused great upheaval and all the vitriol and unchristian behaviour and hatred has come from her believe it or not.

  I've been so calm but she's been raging against me and if the anythingthing unfortunate happens she blames me for causing it by leaving 'the truth'!

  She constantly drops little witnessy hints. If I object she explodes...literally goes mental. I have learned to totally ignore it. The WTB$ really has got her under close mind control. She blames it all on me for getting 'weird stuff' off the internet.

  She has no idea I've actually become agnostic favouring atheist............I just daren't say!!!!

  Then there are the rumours circulating about me..........bleedin' hilariuos!!

  Sapphy - They DA'd me for it rather than DF. Not that it makes any difference. As they noted it was 'inconsistant' my 'membership'. Yes. I went to a Baptist Church for a time. Now I still visit churches as I enjoy the rituals and singing although I'm not sure what my concept of god is anymore.

  It was a couple of non witnesses that mentioned it to the elders when chatting that they knew me. Also Mrs Punk went running to gossip to them about me.

  What actually sparked it all off was an emptyheaded elder had heard me and the Mrs had split up. Another rumour!!

  He came to see me and I just wouldn't talk to him about to do with JWs. Finally he goaded me into admitting I thought it was a cult.

  He gave me the laughable: 'Where else will you go?' routine. So I told him that he'd just misquoted scripture and it says 'to WHOM else..' not 'where' else! He reported me to the BOE I'd just resigned from and I got a call saying they wanted to 'readjust' my thinking and talk to me 'about the remarks' I had made 'about the wt society'. Not about god but they were more concerned about the watchtower. That's how it started.

  It resulted in a time of hounding and real hateful actions from Mrs Punk.

  sounds familiar. We pretty much took the same stand and refused to participate in their process. I had no intention wasting an evening being judged by 3 people unable to think outside a cult paradigm.

  I find their zealous purging of people who have left pathetic since it's only purpose is to reinforce the importance of the visiting elders. We got the where else will you go away to speech I remember it irritated me since the implication is that they are right and there is nowhere else to go. Pure nonsense as if I'd trust my life to a property development company. There are a parasitical organisation that sucks the life out of it's members there is no reason to stay or give it an more of your time.

  Any guesses what the WTS would say if a Catholic, Baptist, etc. got excommunicated from their churches for attending a couple of meetings at a Kingdom Hall?

  You gave people who have no life something to talk about. And I understand you don't care what they think. If it was not you they would be talking about someone else. It is a way of life for them, gossipping, judging, pretending to care about your spirituality and welfare.

  nugget - When they came you could see 'lead' elder was full of his own delusional importance. It's really annoying. Now I know how a traffic warden feels everytime they hear : 'Book 'em Dano!'............I bet they never heard that one before!!

  Well I hope the best for you!!! When I was DA at first it bothered me but after a week or so it was a relief!!!! Now instead of getting that sad come back look... they run away from me. Some times I want to say BOO cuz they look like they just saw a gost

  I don't know how you do it with Mrs Punk! That's tough!!!!
